Colescott, 53-year-old former chief of the Ku Klux Klan, died last night at the U. S. Veterans' Hospital at Coral Gables. The former imperial wizard, who once ripped the K.K.K. charter from the walls of its Georgia headquarters and declared the national organization dead, suffered a heart attack Tuesday.

Though he said the hooded "invisible empire" was dead, it re-emerged shortly after World War II under the guidance of the late Dr. Samuel Green. In its reappearance the Klan Was shorn of its national robes and became the Association of Georgia Klans. A veterinarian, Dr. Colescott became imperial wizard and president of the Ku Klux Klan, in 1939, replacing Dr.

Hiram W. Evans. Colescott never gave his reasons for the disbanding action of April 23, 1944, when, in a secret meeting, the constitution, charter, and by-laws were scrapped. It was reported that he quit the organization because at that time several persons were convicted of flogging Negroes. cams Rich beef meat balls! Tender spaghetti!
