Boyz Men, TLC, Patti LaBelle and others will perform in the taped, syndicated special with hosts Anita Baker, LL Cool and Brandy.

-v Miss Piggy's nephews give John Goodman a hard time when he joins "Muppets Tonight!" as host at 8:30 tonight on ABC. The piggies owe Goodman a debt of gratitude after he saves them from electrocution, but he just wants to be left alone. Nickelodeon cable's "Rugrats" celebrate Passover with a holiday episode at 7:30 tomorrow. In "A Rugrats Passover," all the tots are invited to a Seder at the home of Tommy's grandparents. Grandpa Boris shares the story of Passover with the toddlers after Angela accidently locks them all in the attic.

Comedian George Carlin returns for his ninth HBO special at 10 p.m. tomorrow. The live telecast from New York City's Beacon Theater is a 60-minute set he's billing as "comedy with a lot of edges." House Speaker Newt Gingrich fills in as host on "Larry King Live" at 9 tonight on CNN cable. (The show repeats at 2 a.m.). The topic is animals.

"Weekend Watch," a guide to what's hot and maybe what's not on television Friday through Sunday, appears each Friday in the Weekend section. Seventh Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard. Now the station is affiliated with Fox. That seems appropriate. We might be 25 years older, but we still love cartoons.

Fox's "The Simpsons" and "The Tick" are cult favorites. We don't have "Fright Night" anymore, but we have "The X-Files" and "Sliders." All we need now is roller derby. The second installment on Sunday explores WDRB's affiliation with Fox, its broadcasts of University of Louisville ballgames and "The News at 10." The WDRB anniversary show repeats on April 14 at 1 and 1:30 p.m. Other weekend highlights: WAVE-3, WHAS-11 and WLKY-32 will pre-empt regular programming with NCAA basketball previews tonight. WAVE'S "March to the Meadow-lands" at 7 o'clock, WHAS's "Denim in Jersey" at 9 and WLKVs "NCAA Special" at 8 will look at the Kentucky Wildcats' journey to the Final Four and the team's performance in this year's NCAA tournament.

The Cats take on Massachusetts at 8 p.m. tomorrow on WLKY. Mississippi State meets Syracuse in the earlier game, at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow. The 10th annual "Soul Train Weekend watch Continued from Page 1 "Oscar Meyer" hot-dog song.

Another popular feature that became an instant success was "Fright Night" at 9 p.m. on Saturdays. Host Charlie Kissinger played the floating, glowing host who introduced horror classics from the old Universal Studios library. Unfortunately, the live segments weren't captured on film, but it's easy to conjure up his image during clips of such movie greats as "Frankenstein" and "The Mummy." The only thing missing from the special's look at the station's early favorites among youngsters is "Ultra-man," a 1966 Japanese import about a sleek, superhuman martial artist who battles evil. But there's a star-studded spot from "Bob Braun's Salute to Downtown Louisville" that's pretty neat.

Foster Brooks, Ned Beatty and Muhammad Ali join in a tribute to their hometown. And Ali boasts about the city in another locally produced show, "Community Corner," with host Wilson Hatcher. Back in 71, WDRB had only two cameras and converted an old Butch-ertown garage into a studio.
