Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Austin; a son, Essie Davis, of Springfield, in 23 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at A. D.

Porter Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W. Chestnut with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The body will be the funeral home after 6 p.m. Care Tuesday. Oliver Esters, 48, of Brooks, died at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday at Louisville Community Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II and employed the Hays Nicoulin Construction Co. He was a member of the Brooks Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Sarver, a daughter, Marilyn Janiece Esters, and a son, Thomas Leroy Esters. The funeral will be 1 p.m.

Wednesday at the A. D. Porter Sons Funeral Home, 1300 Chestnut with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday.

Amos D. Farrar, 42, of 2931 W. Walnut died of a heart attack at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Suburban Hospital, according to Chief Deputy Coroner William Anderson. was an employe of Mart and an Athens, native.

He was a Korean War veteran. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Lillie Farrar, of Athens. The funeral be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sweet Home Baptist Church at Athens, with burial in St.

Paul Cemetery there. The body will be at G. C. Williams Funeral Home, 1935 W. Broadway from 6 p.m.

Monday until 10 p.m. Tuesday, then the body will be shipped to the People's Funeral Home at Athens. William B. Gaslin, 92, of 3907 Southern Parkway, died at 7 p.m. Saturday at Christopher Nursing Home South.

He was a retired conductor for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Co. and member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge No. 266. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Warren Banta, of Radcliff, and Mrs.

Gordon Johnson, three sons, Chester Gaslin, of Owensboro, and Elbert and Carl Gaslin, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at 0. D. White Sons Funeral Home, 2727 S.

He was a member of Mt. Holly United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Jane Ferguson; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Faulkner, Holy Cross, Mrs. Martha Zenor, Clearwater, Mrs.

Bertha Hill, an dMrs. tha Hill, and Mrs. Clara McDonald; three John Marvin Russell sons. Snyder, Mrs. Florence Washer, Mrs.

Sunday at Suburban Hospital. She was the former Dorothy Rose Ratterman. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Anthony L. Grisanti, Misses Christina M.

and Connie Jo Clements; a son, John R. Clements and a grandchild. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2040 Buechel Bank Road, where she was a member, with intombment in Resthaven at McAfee Buechel Funeral Home, Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The body's Bardstown Road. J. Harold Dant, 63, of La Grange, Ky Rt. 1, formerly of 329 27th died Saturday at La Grange Hospital. He was native of Lebanon, and a retired truck driver.

Survivors include his wife the former Ruth McDaniel, two daughters, Mrs. Joann Spalding, and Mrs. Shirley Leber, one son, J. H. Dant, and 13 grandchildren.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Cecilia Church, 338 N. 25th with Calvary Cemetery. The Catholic, body will be at the Dunn Memorial Funeral Home, 518 N.

Isabel Isert Gray, of 1294 Willow died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday at Brownsboro Hills Nursing Home. She was a member of the Christ Church Cathedral. Survivors include a brother, John H. Isert Jr.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Herbert C. Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home after noon Monday. Amanda Kay Hainline, infant daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. William Hainline, of 8529 Chase Road, died at 2 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Survivors Hospitalude her parents; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Ernest Gabhart, and Mrs. Roxie Decker, and her Mrs. Ellen Sharp. great Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bethany Memorial Cemetery.

The body is at the Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Wallace Hanna, 62, of Smithfield, Rt. 1, died at 12:25 a.m. at Jewish Hospital. He was a farmer and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Christine Stucker, of Graefenburg, and Miss Donna Hanna, of Smithfield; a son, Gary Hanna, of Smithfield, and three grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with burial in Grove Hill Cemetery there. Miss Bertille J. Kollros, 65, of 211 S.

38th died Saturday home. She was a retired employe of Booker Kinnaird Insurance Inc. She is survived by two brothers, the Rev. Gregory M. Kollros, of Carey, Ohio, and Eugene M.

Kollros. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Columba Catholic Church, 3514 W. Market with burial in St.

Michael Cemetery. The body will be at Ratterman's, 2114 W. Market after 6 p.m. Monday. Leonard W.

Miller, 82, of 2305 W. Oak died at 11 a.m. Sunday at Jewish Hospital. He was a retired street conductor for Louisville Railway Co. and an Army veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife, the former Rosie Wells; stepdaughters, Mrs. Lillie Mansfield, Mrs. Mary Hickey, Mrs. five, Beatrice Chapman, Mrs. Anna Scott, and Mrs.

Doris Wright. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at W. G. Hardy Shively Funeral Home, 4101 Dixie Highway with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, The body will be at the funeral home after 3 p.m.

Monday. Claude P. Moss, 68, of Simpsonville, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday at King's Daughters Hospital, Shelbyville, Ky. He owned and operated the Simpsonville Garage since 1929, and was one of the organizers of the Simpsonville Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include daughter, Mrs. Bill C. Sumner; a son, Joseph P. Moss, of Simpsonville, and four grandchildren. The funeral arrangements are incomplete.

The body is at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Ky. Mrs. Melha Rita Peak, 53, of Elizabethtown, Rt. 4, died Saturday at her home. She formerly worked in the transportation department at Ft.

Knox. She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary, and the St. Christopher Catholic Church at Radcliff. Survivors include her husband, Russell Peak; five sons, Thomas Peak, of Pleasure Ridge Park, Donald Peak, of Valley Station, Russell and William Peak, both of Elizabethtown, and Norbert Peak; five daughters, Mrs. Danny Borah, of Shepherdsville, Mrs.

Betty J. Schinzel, Sheriff candidate has difficulty getting name off ballot Kenneth C. Means, 54, of 6204 W. Pages Lane, said yesterday that he "definitely" doesn't want to be a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Jefferson County sheriff but he has been unable to have his name removed from tomorrow's ballot. "I'm sincere.

I want to withdraw. But I don't know how the hell I can do it," Means said. Means telephoned The Courier-Journal May 11 and said he was withdrawing from the race. Yesterday he called the newspaper and said he had tried with his attorney, John S. Smith, more than: a week ago to have his name removed from the ballot but the Jefferson County Clerk's office said Means had to be present for such action.

Means said he has been in Geneva, N.Y., because an aunt and uncle are ill and he added that he didn't expect to leave New York until sometime after the primary. He said his heart condition and 'his relatives' illness were reasons why he wants to withdraw. Jefferson County Clerk James Hallahan and attorney Smith couldn't be reached yesterday to confirm Mean's report. When Means first announced he was withdrawing, he said he would support the candidacy of James Larkin, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for sheriff. Two women captured after fleeing correctional institute Two prisoners who escaped Thursday from the Kentucky Correctional Institute for Women, Pewee Valley, were picked up yesterday at Dry Ridge, and returned to the institute, according to an institute official.

The two prisoners are Victoria Elizabeth Lipps, 19, from Warren County, who was sentenced to 10 years for armed robbery, and Lucille Oaks Shanks Smith, 22, from Grant County, who was sentenced to five years for breaking and entering. of Claymont, Mrs. Mary Allen, Shively, Mrs. Brenda S. Manion, of Valley Station, and Miss Rebecca L.

Peak of Elizabethtown, and six grandchildren. The funeral will be a.m. Tuesday at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Rad. cliff, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens.

The body is at Manakee Brown Funeral Home, Flizabethtown. Mrs. Rowena Shirley, 69, of 303 Simmons died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday at her home. She was a native of Upton, and a retired employe of the Seelbach Hotel.

She is survived by a daughter, Miss Dorothy Mae Shirley, and a granddaughter. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at A. D. Porter Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W.

Chestnut with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, The body will be at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Tuesday. John Wilfred Sims, 72, of 608 Colorado died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Anthony Hospital.

He was a native of Balltown, and a retired employe of Louisville Transit Co. Survivors include his wife the former Kathryn Tuell, a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn East, three sons, John Bernard. and Joseph A. Sims, a stepmother, Mrs.

Rose Sims, and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, 2914 S. Third where he was a member, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery.

The body will be at Ratterman's, 2815 S. Fourth St. after 4 p.m. Monday. Henry S.

Snider, 86, of Bloomfield, died Saturday at home. He was a retired carpenter. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Harding of Bloomfield, a son, Clifton Snider, of n'unfordville, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m.

Tuesday at Houghlin Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with burial in the Highview Cemetery, Chapin, Ky. Alexander Wiser, 87, of 7061 Dixie Highway, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday at SS. Mary Elizabeth Hospital, of head injuries suffered in a fall Friday, according to Chief Deputy Coroner William S. Anderson.

Wiser fell from the back porch of his home. He was a retired carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mayme Grasmich; a son, Martin J. Wiser, and a daughter, Miss Dorothy D.
