of Dust Damage Postpone Caused by Plant Northeast El Paso residents today asked Commissioners Court to Investigate Hugh rock quarry on the side of Mt Franklin and to take all possible step to close the quarry if it is found to be nuisance and a health menace County Engineer Frank Cook and Commissioner George Carpenter of Precinct 1 were authorized to investigate in the area look at homes said to be damaged by blasting and check on the dust Gil Myers of 3005 Jefferson ave' nue told the Court the quarry presents four problems Objects to Dust "The first problem is the dust" he said "People in the neighbor hood complain of dust colds hay fever and minor displeasing irritations of the nasal tracts Dust in the air has put my wife under doctor's care "The second problem is the trucks Trucks from the quarry are a threat to life and limb They do not observe traffic regulations They go through atop signs and they speed "The third problem is the blasting It frightens people and it cracks homes Mountain Scarred "The fourth problem is the fact that Mt Franklin if being scarred The neighborhood is being spoiled "The solution to all these problems is to take the quarry out of the City
