Manager thinks elected, after vice Daley chairman, and 58 succeeded, Chicago the delegates were ousted from the Democratic National Convention in a credentials fight and their seats were taken by Singer's group. Committeemen will vote Tuesday Choate told a news conference he would recognize the Daley delegates at the caucus in "I personally would feel that Mayor Daley is the duly elected chairman," Choate said. The caucus will pick six national committeemen who will represent Illinois when the party's national committee meets Tuesday in to vote on a vice presidential candidate." Choate said he hoped the Illinois committeemen would support the choice of the presidential candidate, Sen. George S. McGovern.

"It certainly should be in his power to choose his running mate," Choate said. Choate said he believed the Democratic National Committee would accept the action of today's caucus. The National Committee, however, joined the Singer delegates this week in an unsuccessful court attempt to have Covelli's injunction reversed. Singer indicated Thursday after a federal appeals court refused to reverse Covelli's action, that the ultimate decision on Illinois delegation would be left to the party's national committee. The national committee scheduled a meeting Monday in Washington to hear challenges to the selection of committeemen.

The suit, assigned to Judge Jack Mudd, claims that the defendants, the threeyear-old Independent Postal System of America, Oklahoma City, and Postal System of Kentucky, Louisvile, falsely implied that their franchised routes would be profitable. The action was brought by Stanford Schreiner and Arvil Starnes, both of Louisville, and Robert R.

Istre of Winchester, Ky. It was filed on behalf of the system's carriers in the state. After buying routes for about $1,000 the suit says, the carriers incurred a loss of profits had to spend their own money for such things as gasoline and supplies. The suit alleges that the postal system's representatives knew when they sold the routes that there was not enough volume of mail to make them profitable. The suit seeks the return of all money, paid to the companies or lost by the carriers, and also asks exemplary and punitive damages.
