A family dinner was at tht lome of Mr. and Mrs. Clovis ohnson, Sunday, Nov. 19, in honor I their son, Marion, who is home in furlough, and a daughter, Mrs. )on McCann, Vickie, Diane, and Carrie; Marion Johnson; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Johnson, Wade, and Cathy; Ernest Johnson, Ottawa; tfr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, Coleen, Duane, and Ellen, Ottawa, and Mrs. Jennie Bethell. The Pomona P.T.A. met Monday, Nov. 13, with the third grade eading the flag salute. The president, Mrs. Lois Fannin, gave the devotions and prayer. The feature of the evening was the opportunity for each parent to visit the room of his child. The 3rd grade received the trophy and prize for having ths largest percentage of parents joining the P.T.A. . There will be no regular meeting in December. The Christmas program will take its place. A committee was appointed to meet at the grade school on Wednesday afternoon to consider the purchase of library books for each room. Five members attended the district conference at Eudora on Friday, Nov. 10. They were Mrs. Roy Reed, Mrs. Tom Parkin, Mrs. J. E. Fannin, Mrs. Roy Alcorn and Mrs. Harvey Criqui. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting by the sixth and seventh grade room mothers. Dress rehearsal for the junior play was Wednesday evening at the high school. The class presented spot parts to the school at an assembly. The Greenwood Ladies Aid had a "come as you are" party last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Vernon Fitzgerald at 1:30 p.m. It was put on by the finance committee for October, November and December as its fund raising project.
