Fulbright (D-Ark) says he has urged the Agriculture Department to maintain support prices for cottonseed and soybeans at levels which will enable both products to move in the market. He said there is some concern^, among cotton producers that then? department is being urged to abolish support prices on cottonseed. In 1952 both soybeans and cottonseed were supported at 90 per cent of parity. In Jun, 1D53, the cottonseed support was trimmed to 75 per cent of parity, and last February soybeans were c utlo 80 per cent of parity. Fulbright said one of his colleagues ha s 1 expressed conccrn\|. that the department is "playing" one product against the other.
