A county recognition program was held Tuesday, March 23 in conjunction with the Farmer-Businessman banquet held at the Elks' Club in Carroll. Thirty-three of the certificates and markers were presented 'by Carroll County Farm Bureau President Laverdos Onken. The farm certificate is presented from the Iowa Department of Agriculture. The Iowa Farm Bureau is presenting a farm marker with the county Farm Bureau responsible for giving the marker to the Century Farm owner. Century Farm designation is being given to those farms who submitted applications by December 31. 1975. To qualify for the designation, the farm must have been owned by the same family for 100 years or more by July 4,1976.
