FINIS ODOM County Judge Hempstead County Oct. 14, 21; 1974 3 die on highways By The Associated Press Three persons, one of them a pedestrian, died in traffic accidents on Arkansas highways during the weekend. The victims were identified as Rickey Elliott, 21, of Camden, Joe Smith, 54, of Hot Springs and Frank Hooks, 72, of Pine Bluff. Elliott was killed Sunday nifjht when the car in which he was riding crashed about seven miles east of Camden on Arkansas 4. State Police said the car, driven by Lee Andrew Harris 25, of Camden, ran off the highway and overturned several times. Harris was injured. State Police said Smith was killed Saturday when his car ran off the road, went through a fence and struck a tree. The accident occurred on Arkansas 9 about six miles south of Malvern. Officer Jimmy White of the Pine Bluff Police Department said Hooks was killed Friday night in an accident at the intersection of U.S. 65 and Larch Street in Pine Bluff. White said the accident occurred when Hooks was walking across the highway and was struck by a car driven by Tommy Ward, 53, of IJttle Rock. Briefs PORTLAND, Of*. (AP) •* William Roberta, 37, sought by the FBI in connection with the kidnaping and robbery of a Fort Smith, Ark,, minister, was arrested here Saturday. Police said Roberts, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., was taken into custody without incident when he went to Good Samaritan Hospital complaining of arm and chest pains. A hospital spokesman satd Roberts was not believed to be seriously ill. Roberts is charged with parole violation, unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, kidnaping and interstate transportation of a stolen motor vehicle. The FBI said a man believed to be Roberts abducted and robbed William C. Falrchlld Jr. at Fort Smith Oct. 1. i BEEBE, Ark.
