Richert hit Tony Conigliaro with pitch and gave up a double to Rico Petrocelli with one out in the 11th. George Scott then drew an intentipnal walk, filling the bases, before the decisive wild pitch.

i Carl Yastrzemski's two-out single, in the eighth drove home the tying run tor Boston after the Orioles took on 8-7 leald in the top of the inning on Elrod Hendricks' two'-run homer. V. Baltimore's Dave McNally failed ill a bid for his 22nd victory, blowing a 60 lead. He was lifted with two on in seventh and Billy Conigliaro promptly tagged reliever Eddie Watt for a three-run homer, sending the Red Sox ahead 7-e. i his 40th of the season with two on in the seventh.

But Cash singled to open the 12th and scored the winning run on Maddox' double and Unser's second error of the game. The Senators' outfielder committed his first error of the season in the ninth. Jim Northrup hit his 24th homer for the Tigers. ATHLETICS 7, ROYALS 1 John (Blue Moon) Odom pitched a two-hitter and belted one of Oakland's three home runs, leading the streaking A's to a 7-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals at Oakland. Odom, a 15-game winner a year ago who has been injured most of this season, pitched his first complete game since April 16.

He was tagged for a second-inning homer by Bill Sorrell, then stopped the Royals cold, despite seven walks, until Lou Piniella doubled in the ninth. The victory gave Odom an 8-5 mark. Odom's third homer of the season, a Peterson and the New York Yankees a 4-1 victory over visiting Cleveland. Danny Cater started the uprising with a one-out single off Mike Paul, 1-5, and with two out John Ellis bounced a single over third before Woods tripled. Woods broke off third when a pitch got away from catcher Duke Sims and was hung up, but scored when Sims dropped a throw to the plate.

Peterson, 17-9, hurled a five-hitter and retired 17 consecutive batters until Roy Eoster's two-out single in the ninth. The idians scored in the second on two -singles and Jack Heidemann's sacrifice fly. TIGERS 8, SENATORS 7 Norm Cash raced home from first in the 12th inning when Elliott Maddox' double got past right fielder Del Unser for an error, giving the Detroit Tigers an 8-7 victory over the Senators at Washington. Huge Frank Howard, as usual, provided the bulk of the Senator attack, batting in five runs on two home runs. Howard brought the Senators back from a five-run deficit, slamming a two-run homer in the fifth inning and poling Associated Preii Cesar Tovar drove in three runs with a homer and double as the Minnesota Twins trimmed California 3-1 behind Tom Hall and Ron Perranoski to complete a three-game series sweep over the Angels.

The victory sent the American League West Division leaders six games ahead of the skidding Angels who dropped into a second place tie with Oakland. Hall scattered four hits before giving way to Perranoski in the ninth and picked up his seventh victory against six losses. Clyde Wright, seeking his 20th victory for the Angels, walked Rich Reese to open the third inning and Tovar rocketed a two-out homer, his 10th, over the, left field wall, giving the Twins a 2-0 lead. Doubles by George Mltterwald and Tovar, who had seven hits in the series, produced an -insurance run in the seventh. Mangual Gets Two Homers, Five RBI as Columbus Wins Righthander Gene Garber pitched a five-hitter and rookie Angel Mangual homered twice and drove in five runs to pace Columbus to a 10-1 thrashing of Rochester yesterday for a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five semifinal playoff series. Garber was in charge the entire way, striking' out five and walking just one in the International League game at Rochester. Rochester's only run came on a homer by. Don Baylor in the fourth. Mangual drove in the Jets' first run with a sacrifice fly and the last run with a single.

In between he belted a two-run homer in the sixth off Rochester starter John Montague and a 405-foot blast off reliever Al Severinsen in the six-run ninth. Garber also homered, in the seventh with the bases empty. A pair, of errors in the ninth helped the Jets send 11 men to the plate and turn the game into a rout. McGrath Leads Qualifying In Pittsburgh Bowling Meet PITTSBURGH (AP) Mike McGrath of El Cerrito, knocked down an average of 217 pins for each game he rolled to take the lead after the third qualifying round for the $50,000 Pittsburgh Open Bowling Tournament in suburban North Versailles. The slender lefthander rolled games of 237, 172, 267, 226, 207 and 193 and now has a total of 3,966 pins since play began Saturday.

Trailing the leader was another lefthander, Johnny Petraglia of Brooklyn, N.Y., who has captured one Professional Bowlers Association title as compared to four for McGrath. Petraglia had a 1,298 block to stand at 3,919. Nelson Burton of St. Louis, came up with a 1,318 set Sunday to move into third place at 3,848. Next in line was Wayne Sheridan of Richmond, with a 3,795 total.
