Spot Ackley and family have moved back to Easton after spending a few months living in Kansas City, Mo. Lon Sparks and family of Kansas City were visiting last week wirh relatives here.

Hall of Leavenworth was visiting in the city this week. The ball game here Sunday of Easton vs. Company H. was won by the latter by a score of 7 to 2. Batteries for Easton, Woodward and Rowe.

The game Monday between the same teams was also won by' the fort boys. This time there was much rooting as there was a large crowd and the boys made several bad errors by getting excited. The score was 5 to 3. Wunderlich did the twirling for our home team and was there with those exciting curves. The feature of the game was the center fielding of Charley Voorhees.

Win. Wilson arid family spent the Fourth of July with his parents. Thb picnic here was a great success financially. The crowd was very large and remained until midnight. Elmer Erhart and family of Mil-tonvale visited relatives and friends here the Fourth.

No Demonstration On His Arrival Home Crowd at Train. Los Angeles, July 9. Still moody, downcast and silent, J. J. Jeffries arrived home yesterday from his disastrous experience in Reno.

He came on the Owl from San Francisco with his wife and party and, avoiding a few friends at the depot, stepped into an auto mobile and was driven to his town house. There was no demonstration at the station. Jeffries sent wore1 in advance that he would not talk to anyone and kept his word. His right eye is still badly dis colored. Jfffries took pains to avoid letting many see him.

There was a crowd at the Arcade station awaiting the arrival of his train. He quietly dropped off at River station with Mrs. Jeffries. He remained in town fifteen minutes, leaving at once for his alfalfa ranch at Bur- bank. TARBETS VS.

QUARTERMASTERS Game Will Be Played at Park Tomorrow.
