(AP) — Illinois will be' prominently displayed next week at the inaugural festivities in Washington as Richard M. Nixon becomes the 37th persident of the United StEtes, it was announced today. An estimated 2,500 persons will attend the ceremonies from Illinois, led by new Republican Gov. Richard B. Ogilvie. The state which carried Nixon to the presidency will lead the historic inaugural parade down Pennyslvania Avenue to the White House in the form of three Pipizzan slsllions from Tempel Farms in norther Illinois. Miss America of 1968—Judi Ann Ford of Belvidere—will be part of the festivities, and Gov. Ogilvie will occupy Box No. 1 at: the Inaugural Ball in the Mayflower Hotel. "All of us who represent Illinois should be very proud of tlie. prominence our state Is given in inaugural events, in the parade and at the presidential ball," said Robert E. Bradford, executive director of the Illinois Republican State Central Committee. "But I do regret that there are not enough tickets to accommodate all the, deserving men and women who' worked so hard and enthusiastically for the party." Gov. Ogilvie and his party will leav,e for Palwaukee Airport in Northfield Sunday morning, arriving in time for the Governor's reception. Another event in Washington Sunday will be the Illinois State Society Reception honoring Sen. Evei-ett M. Dirksen, the Senate minority leader, and'Mrs. Dirksen. Gov. After the official Inaugural ceremony Monday morning. Gov. Ogilvie will attend a luncheon for all governors. The Illinois float in the parade, using the "Forward Together" theme of the parade, will add a unity theme of 110 years ago as proclaimed by Abraham Lincoln. It will feature the familiar Lincoln stovepipe hat an umbrella lying in front of a scroll which contains the martyred President's words: "A house divided against iself cannot stand." The base of the float will be red, white and blue,, and will feature the Illinois Sesquicentennial seal of the front. The Loyola Academy band of will be the Illinois band in the parade.
