THE CORSICANA (TEXAS) DAILY SUN. WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1948. SEVEN Five Quintets In YMCA-Sponsored Basketball Loop Five men's basketball teams have alreadj entered the YMCA- Bponsored basketball league for 1948-49, Bill Bacon announced today after an organizational meeting held at the with representatives of the various teams. For the men this was the best pre-season response in a number of years, he said, but the desired girls' league has not materialized. A number of sponsors already have girls' uniforms, but getting the players and managers appears to be a more difficult job.

Of the five men's teams that will enter, two are to be sponsored by firms in the city, and three are to be sponsored by out-of-city firms. P. and S. Pharmacy and Har well and Sons arc the city entries. Haynie and Ray of Powell, who sponsored the league winner last year, will again enter a team.

Teams from Ennis and Richland will also enter, but their sponsors are not known at present. Corsicana Dr. Pepper, which entered a men's and girls' team in years past, did send a repre- sentoative -to the organizational meeting, Bacon said. Play in the various leagues is 0 start about the second week of December Games wilt be played on Monday and Thursday nights only, according to the present plan. Relax in a Turkish Bath!
