(AP) — Delegates representing the 259 United Presbyterian churches in Kansas have adopted plans for a week- n.on.36 ] on o evangelistic visitation campaign in March. The Rev. DarreJl Yeany of Manhattan proposed the program Wednesday at the 98th Kansas Presbyterian Synod. Other speakers included Gov. John Anderson and William Thompson, a Wichita attorney. Gov. Anderson said the public has become indifferent to crime and called for efforts to awaken it. Thompson said the convention should express its convictions on secular as well as religious issues. "Our church," he said, "is set in a p e r m i ssive environment where the social institutions, including government, do not actually oppose it, but where it too often is ignored as irrelevant." Today's program called for discussion of social, political and moral issues confronting the church. NIPs Shrunken Head Missing ~ LINCOLN, Nebraska (AP) — Someone swiped the shrunken head from the University of Nebraska Museum. What makes the loss so tough, explains museum director C. Bertrand Schultz, is that the 60 to 70-year old shrunken human head is irreplaceable. Indians in South America — where this specimen originated— have been forbidden to shrink heads for some time.
