I Board of Supervisors Office, Carroll, Iowa Tuesday, February 24,1m. . The Board of Supervisors of Carroll County, Iowa met In Regular Adjourned Session at the Board Office, at Carroll, Iowa the County seat of said County on Tuesday, February U, 1976 at 9:00 a.m. Central Standard Time pursuant to law, the rules of said Board and to adjournment with all members present except Leonard Ruplper. James Furey, attorney for Mrs. Alvln Belllngnausen, asked the <> Board of Supervisors to vacate a total of 20 feet of a road, beginning at a-point 33' West and 60' North 6f the S.E corner of NE'ASEV. Section 8-84-35, thence West 300' thence North 20' thence East 300' thence South 20' to- point of beginning. The Board of Supervisors Instructed Mr. Furey to proceed with the legal procedure for vacating part of the road. A motion was made by Walter Koster and seconded by Leonard Sporrer that Carroll County will participate In the safer roads demonstration program. All voted aye, A copy of the approval agreement will be returned after approval by the Department of Transportation, The Rev. Pillow from Happy Times Day Care Center, brought to the attention of the Board of Supervisors the. provisions In Title XX, of the practice of eligible clients to pay for part of their service. He assured the Board Supervisors that this Is not to be a practice of the Center as a requirement, The Boafd of Supervisors set March 15, 1976 at 1:30 p.m. as the date for selling Lots 1 thru 6 BlocK 6 and Lots 7 thru 12 Block 6, Lanesboro Inc., Carroll County, Iowa, The Board of Supervisors approved the hiring of two additional employees at the County Care Facility and one additional attendant for the Ambulance Service. C i 29 ?..* ?. ? : 22 P • .1) • ESfiM/fflNGlpMHOGS Monday's market report: We sold 1070 feeder pigs on a market that was steady to 12 lower, the strength In the heavier weight weighing 50 Ibs. or more with the weakness in the light weight pigs. 35 to 40 Ib. pigs selling from $39 to$42.50,40 to 45 Ib. pigs from $40 to $47.50, selling heavy weight pigs at a $1 a pound on up to 60 lbs.,W« did sell 1 fly weight of pigs weighing 20 IDS. at $31. One string of 124 Ib. pigs sold at $72 per head. We sold 100 slaughter boars and packing sows. Slaughter boars were selling from $36.50 to $37.50. Packing sows selling from $42 to a top of $43.50, with the bulk of the sows at $42.75 to $43. The only place showing a discount would be on wet sows with a discount of $2 a hundred. Cattle market: Steer calves sold from $38 to $40 and Heifer calves from $31 to $33. There wtre not enough yearling cattle to test the market. The cow market was very active, selling the top yielding cows from $27 to $29 with a top of $30 with thin shelly cows from $21 to $25.
