Basis of 40 Ib. pigs at S45 to $47 with SO to 55 Ib. pigs at S1 a Ib., 70 to 80 Ib. pigs from $60 to U2.50. Sold 1 set of light pigs weighing 16 Ibs. at $31. We were only estimating T.OOO head and had actual receipts of 2,004 pigs. Sold a large run of packing sows and slaughter boars, receipts totaling 32S head with consigners coming from as far away as Anita, Logan, Sac City and Jefferson. Bulk of the sows sold from $44 to $44.50 disregarding any weight break with a top of $45.25. Selling the bulk of steer calves from $36 to $40 with a top of $42. Bulk of the heifers from $32 to $34 with all the better heifer calves from $33.50 to $34. Yearling steers: sold 1 set of Black Baldy steers weighing 780 Ibs. at $38.80, another set of 721 Ib. steers at $39.40, 1 set of yearling heifers weighing 714 Ibs. at $34.50.
