Couples Granted Licenses to Wed New Hampton—Marriage licenses have been issued to Lloyd G. Morey, 22, Sioux City, and Eleanor K. Grahl reported this number included 1,025 in the air National Guard and 5,675 in the ground forces of the 34th Red Bull infantry division and in non- divisional troops of the state. Must "Keep Up Fences" Nationally, the National Guard went into the current recruitment move operation with 362,040 officers and men, the Iowa adjutant general reported. "In the light of recent front page news of worldwide consequence, .it is imperative that we keep up our fences," Gen. Grahl declared. "Any man between the ages ol 17 and 34, who can meet the requirements for the physical, mental and moral standards of the guard, is eligible to enlist. Age limits are higher for veterans who have served in any of the armed forces." National success for the guard in its new drive for enlistees will enable the organization to attain its objective of 399,500 officers and men for the current fiscal t year. 26, both of Dorchester; Harlan D. Funeral services will be held at 9 a. m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic church, with Ms Patrick F. Malonc officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery, Minneapolis. The Tabernacle ( Society will say .the Rosary at 4 p. m. Tuesday and the parish Rosary will be at 8 p. m. The Colonial funeral home in charge. Golden Wedding Party Is Held Cresco—Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Henry observed their golden wedding anniversary Oct. 9 in the I. O. O. B'. hall here. The occasion was a family reunion, joined in by Mr. and Mrs. Henry's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fifty relatives attended a noonday family dinner, and open house was held from 2 p. m. to 4:30 p. m. Two hundred and fifty guests were registered. Musical numbers and readings featured the program in the afternoon and a mock wedding "was put on by great grandchildren of the celebrants. • : Mr. and Mrs. Henry were married at Cresco, Oct. 11, 1899, by the Rev. W. K. Lane, pastor of the Baptist church. The ceremony was performed in the home of Mrs. Henry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Nelson. The bride was Miss Hattie Nelson. The early years of their married life were spent on farms near Granger, Minn., 10 miles north of Cresco. They lived there until they came to Cresco 15 years ago and they have lived here ever since. . . There are 4 children, all of whom were here for the occasion. They are: Mrs. B. J. Thompson, Waterloo; Giles Henry, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Roy Picking, Cresco, and Willis Henry^ Seattle, Wash. There are. 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. —o— Mildred Downi-ng Weds at Greene » Greene—Miss Mildred Down- Ing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Downing, Greene, and Earl Goodenberger, Greene, were married at St. Mary's Catholic church, Greene, Oct. 10 by the Rev. P. J. Bbyle. Nuptial music was played by Sister Everesta of the Sacred Heart academy and the school choir sang. Attendants were her sister, Evelyn Downing and the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Robert Sandho. The bridegroom's attendants were his brother, Emery Goodenberger, Des Moines, Daniel Downing, brother of the bride, Greene, Louis Downing, .Greene, and Max Sloughty, Hampon. The bride is a graduate of Greene high school and has been employed by the Butler county Farm Bureau, Allison. The bridegroom was braduated from Belgrade high school, Montana, and 'is manager of the Harrisons Junior department store, Greene. A dinner was held at the St. Charles hotel, Charles City, at noon for the bridal party, relatives and friends. The couple left on a week's wedding trip and \vill be at home in Greene.
