Marian's next move may be movies. Q Powerful pop vocalist Mariah Carey has sold millions of albums, with no end in sight. Now I hear she wants to make movies. Is there any truth in that? Jim Hild Dearborn, Mich. We're told that Carey, 28-year- old ex-wife of Sony music honcho Tommy Mottola, is indeed interested in making movies. Already in the works is an autobiographical story she'll produce, All That Glitters. Carey, who dates New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, is young, ambitious and, as you note, wildly successful in her first career, so it should come as no surprise she'd give a second one a whirl. With her most recent album, Butterfly, Carey (who still works for Sony) became the first female recording artist to have seven consecutive platinum albums—more than 80 million sold. With a track record like that, some business associates, her former husband included, might just as soon hope she keeps her day job. But IJ his new CBS sitcom, The Closer, hasn't done well. Did Selleck take a wrong turn by going back to television? Mary Beth Browning, Cincinnati No. Selleck, 53, and TV were made for each other. As executive producer, Selleck, who worked on the midseason replacement till last week (wife Jillie and daughter Hannah attended tapings), is in a position to fix The Closer, critically drubbed more for lackluster writing than performances. We're told he feels good about the show; CBS this week will announce whether it's in the fall lineup. Q ls actress Anne Heche still involved with Ellen DeGeneres? I see Heche has a big part In Harrison Ford's new summer movie, Six Days, Seven Nights. Maria Warbetts.Absecon.NJ. Heche and DeGeneres, whose ABC sitcom was canceled last month, live together, but Heche is Ford's sexy love interest in the coming romantic comedy. Director Ivan Reitman had reservations about casting Heche opposite Ford once she came out as a lesbian, but tells us now he feels "I'm sitting on this big secret" because they have chemistry. And Heche, 28, tells us she loved working with Ford — "we adored and respected one another"—but was less happy about the Hawaii shoot; she's not a traveler. "We have created our own paradise," she says of life with DeGen- eres. "All we care about is: Do we have a night alone in our house?" Q Where is baseball-football great Bo Jackson, whose sports career was cut short by injuries? I most remember his "Bo knows..." commercials. Donald Cantrell, Chatsworth, Ga. He travels with other sports celebrities "sending [kids] a message it isn't cool to do drugs or drop out of school." Jackson tells us he doesn't miss sports, though he keeps a hand in it. During spring training, he coached his former team, the Chicago White Sox, "to get the guys loose and have fun." An aspiring actor, he played a prison guard in The Chamber (1996). Since then, it's been low-budget films and dead-end auditions — and one thing Bo knows is he doesn't want to be a "third-rate B-movie actor." Jackson, right, with Chamber co-star Chris O'Donnell. n Mick Jagger and model Jerry Hall had yi another baby recently. How many kids does that make for the aging Rolling Stone? Isn't he a grandfather, too? Usa Mudzo-Logan, Endwell, N.Y. Jagger has two granddaughters thanks to Jade, 26, his daughter with first wife Bianca. He has four children with Hall: Gabriel Luke Beauregard, born in December; Elizabeth, 14; James, 12; and Georgia May, 6. Jagger has another grown daughter, Karis, 27, born of his relationship with actress-turned-writer Marsha Hunt. Married with children: Kids keep Jagger and Hall in sync. Is Debbie Reynolds still performing? Robert Von B lon, St. Augustine, Ha. Reynolds, 66, tours or performs at her Las Vegas hotel and casino, which at press time was caught up in bankruptcy proceedings. "I've always been short of money because I marry the wrong men," says the woman who lost first husband Eddie Fisher to Elizabeth Taylor. "I'm still in court with my ex-husband [Richard Hamlett] over my divorce. This time I'll fight until I faint." d Contributing: Nancy Mills and Jeanne Wright
