Phone TR CITY POLICE ACTIVITIES Three shots were fired at aiford contacted the woman owner prowler in the 700 block of South Main street shortly before midnight while police were en route to the scene. Police searched the area without finding the suspect, nor blood on the ground to indicate a bullet had found its mark.

A city employe was arrested Thursday by Asst. Chief Hightower and Investigator Upton of burglary and theft division, for the alleged theft of some junk batteries at the city garage on South Twelfth street. He was booked for theft under $5 and fined $25 in court. Two men were jailed by Officers Wiley and Jones who arrested them for drunkenness Thursday night. On receipt of report at headquarters of an alleged vicious dog in the 900 block of South Seventeenth street, Officer Craw- who agreed to pen the dog up Thursday about 6:30 p.m.

A disturbance call to the 1000 block of South Seventeenth street was answered Thursday at 8 p.m. by Officer Moore who took no action on learning it Involved family trouble. A similar call was answered in the 300 block of Havner avenue by Sgt. Wells and Officers Wiley and Jones at 1:30 a.m. Friday with no action being taken.

Police were askod Thursday about 8:20 p.m. to search for Bobby Heard, 14, who had been missing from home since 4:30 p.m. However at 10 p.m., police were notified he had returned home and informed his parents he had gone to a movie with a friend. Seventy-three cars were tagged for overparking at meters by Officers Tanner, Wiswell and Coffey. Fines were reported paid on 71 tickets.

Irvin Prater Riies Saturday Irvin Prater, 58, farmer, na tive of Dawson, died in Memorial Hospital Thursday fol lowing a stroke several weeks ago.
