8-Havre Daily News, Tuesday Evening, March 3, 1970 Appreciation Expressed by The following letter was received by Vern Mclntyre, sports editor for the HavreDailyNews, from Steve Huston, head basketball coach at Northern Montana College at the close of the 1969- TO college basketball season. "The closing of the Northern Montana College basketball season leaves me with varied emotions. Even though we probably lost a couple of games that we shouldn't have, the coaches and the team feel that the season was successful. "I feel very strongly about the Importance of the role you have played In making the season successful. Your active participation In keeping statistics for our games and the publicizing of upcoming games are very Instrumental In promoting a feeling of community interest among the players.

This community Interest Is tremendously important in helping to get players 'up 1 for a particular game. Also, I have much praise for your reports on the games, In that you do not over-emphasize individual scoring. Defense and rebounding are hard phases of the game to emphasize If the publicity all goes tothe scorers. "My sincere thanks for all your help." Steve Huston, basketball coach, NMC.
