Mini's service with Standard dates from Doc. 7, 1929. After working in the lab o r department for a short time, he transferred to the still cleaning department where he spent the major part of his employment. He was honored Mike Mini for twenty years of service on Dec. 7, 1949. He is a janitor. Mr. and Mrs. Mini reside al 106 South Main street, Wood River. William II. Lenmon also wil be 65 on June 6, and will be retired by the Wood River refinery of the Standard Oil Co. Lemmon w a s employed by the company on Oct. 18, 1927 as a coal car cleaner, he worked in the crane and locomotive dep art- W. II. Lemmon ment as telephone opeator and as a watchman. Lemmon has throe daughters and three grandchildren. All of his children reside in the Alton-Wood River area. Mr. and Mrs. Lemmon live at 432 Lorena avenue, Wood River, E.P.FranketoBe Retired By Shell After 29Vi years with Shell Oil Co., E. P. Franke will retire on June 1. He has worked at the Wood River Refinery during this entire lime. After a brief period in I he Labor Department, he was trans ferred to the Machinists. Franke is a native of Edwardsville. He was married in 1927 to Elsie Buffe of Wood River. There are two daughters in the family: Delores, who is Mrs. Denzil Dyer of Edwardsville, and Melba, also of Edwardsville, Franke has been a member of the Edwardsville municipal band for many years, and has served for six years on the school board of Wanda and South Ro.xana. He plans to do some traveling in re- lirement. but will keep his home on Route No. 1, Edwardsville, where he will be occupied with light farm work and truck gardening.
