The reporter came across Levi ltayl, to-day, one of the leading fruit growers of the county, and gleaned some facts from him with reference to the kinds of apples that do well in this latitude, which may be of interest to our many readers. The Interest in fruit growing of all kinds is rapidly increasing, but our talk with Mr. Rayl was on the question of apples alone. In answer to our query as to the varieties of apples which do well in this climato he mentioned the Lamar, Missouri Pippin, Strawberry, Limber Twig, Willow Twig, Red June, Yellow Bellflowor. Early Penic, Northern Spy, Domine, Cooper's Early White, Smoke House, Kambo, Roman Beauty, Red Astrnchan, Snow, Roinanite, Maiden Blush, Early Harvest, Milan, Lowell, Kansas Keeper, Mann, Nonesuch, Smith's Cider, Famuse, Arkansas Black, Grime's Golden Pippin. 20 oz. In all his experience with fruits, he thinks that fruits of all kinds, and apples in particular, grow to a better size, more elegant flavor, etc., than any other country on earth. He views the sand hills scheme as being a feasible one, and one that will pay a big profit to the investors. Tho St. John Meeting. The meetings at the Methodist church continue afternoon and even- ng with unabated interest. At the pentecostial meeting yesterday afternoon the attendance was very large, and the altar was filled with seekers for the baptism of power. I n the evening Mrs. St. John gave another of those eloquent, educational addresses for which she is so remarkable. Her theme was a non-partisan view of the relations existing between capital and labor. She gave many interesting statistics showing how the money power rapidly centralizing and gaining possession of the government, and, made the startling prediction, bringing many facts to prove her assertion that this nation cannot exist fifty years longer under its present condition of things without revolution. She asserts that history is repeating itself in America and that monarchy and revolution will be the legitimate outcome of the present methods of government. She showed how the mania for speculation had demoralized every line of business, and how it was perverting the minds of the rising generation and undermining the foundations of government, and how the gigantic liquor monopoly was fastening itself upon every branch of business and compelling the government to pay tribute to its demands. Her peroration was intensely thrilling, and at the close Mr. St. John added a few words of exhortation.after which quite a number signed the temperance and tobacco pledge. The talk this evening will be more particularly addressed to the old veterans, but everybody is invited to be present. them to-night will be well repaid for going.
