H. Litterer Dies; Rites Friday, C. H. Litterer Funeral services for Charles Howard Litterer, 82-year-old retired Nashville bank official, will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Friday at Martin's funeral home. The Rev. Alex Moody will officiate and burial will be in the Hartsville cemetery, Hartsville, Tenn. Mr. Litterer, who had been a vice president of the old Fourth and First bank here and had served as state manager of the Home Owners Loan corporation, died at 9:30 p.m.

Tuesday at Vanderbilt hospital. Stricken at Montague He was stricken about two weeks ago at his home in Montague, and had been in the hospital since that time. Born Feb. 25, 1867, in Madison, Mr. Litterer was educated in the Indiana schools and came to Nashville as a man.

For a time he was associated with his uncle, the late C. A. Litterer, in the wholesale implement business before joining the staff of the old Fourth National bank, later consolidated to become the Fourth and First. He was a pioneer in the Nashville branch bank in this city, and is credited with organizing the Third ave. and Broadway branch of the American National bank.

Headed HOLC Office Failing health forced his resignation from his banking position about 23 years ago, but in 1934 he was called out of retirement to head the state office of the HOLO which he managed until the office closed in 1939. recently, he had served as officer in Judge Frank Langford's Third circuit court. Mr. Litterer was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Phoenix Lodge and a Shriner of All. Menah Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amelia Jo McMillin Litterer, and a brother, Ferd Litterer, of Decatur, Ind. Mrs. Mary Scarbrough Mrs. Mary Alice Scarbrough, 96, at her home at 1020 N.

Fifth died, 10 a.m. yesterday following a prolonged illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Bracey-Welsh funeral home with the Rev. James Lantrip officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery, Mrs. Scrabrough was born June 12, 1853, in Davidson county and was a life-long resident of this city. She received her early education in the Davidson county schools. Her husband, Jacob H. Scarbrough, who was foreman of the water works department, died in 1903.

Mrs. Scarbrough a member of the Meridian WERE Methodist church. Survivors include A daughter, daughter, Mrs. Anglea; Reba, a granda grandson, Bryan Kidd. Harvey M.

Harris Funeral services for Harvey Monroe Harris, 60, farmer of Route 3, Goodlettsville who died at 4:20 a.m. yesterday at a local infirmary will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Union Hill church, The Rev. Colgate Funeral services for Jere Baxter Colgate, about 45, who died unexpectedly Thursday night at a hospital in Detroit, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Eastland funeral home. The Rev. G. L.

Cullum will officiate and burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery near shland City. Relatives here said that Mr. Colgate had not been ill previously and died of a hemorrhage suffered shortly before 9 o'clock at the Briggs Manufacturing co. in Detroit where he had been employed for the past three years. A native of Cheatham county, Mr.

Colgate was the son of the late William Ellsworth and Mary Jane Bowker Colgate. He received his education in the Bethel school near Ashland City, and lived in Nashville for a while before moving to Louisville, 24 years ago. He served in the navy for about three years during World War I and at the time of his discharge moved to Detroit where he had resided for the past three years. He was a member of the Jesus Only Church in Detroit. Mrs.

Oval Louisville; two Survivors include, a daughter, sons, Slant Colgate of Texas, and Ritchie Colgate of the U. S. navy; a sister, Mrs. Florence Allen of Detroit; two brothers, J. T.

and J. H. Colgate, both of Nashville, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Hennie Carter Selley Mrs.

Carter Selley, 68, of 1802 died 12:45 a.m. Hennie, yesterday at General hospital following an illness of several months. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Buena Vista funeral home with the Rev. Elmer L.

Smith officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn memorial park. A native of Covington, Mrs. Selley received her early education there before moving to Murfreesboro, where she lived for several years. She moved with her husband to Nashville 11 years ago.

She was married 14 years ago to W. H. Selley, a painter, who survives. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. Besides her husband she is survived by a granddaughter.
