PAGE FOUR THE TITUSVILLE HERALD. TTTUSVILLE. PENNA. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10. 1960 Ursula Thiess (Continued troir Inside) finally broken on "The Detectives." Ursula did not speak English when she first came to America, we were amazed to note that there wasn't a trace of accent in her speech.

And she was most eloquent when she spoke about her family. believe raisirxg a family and keeping a home is in itself a full- time job. That's one of the reasons I've shied away from movies and television work. Bob feels the same way only more so. One reason you have seen so little of our family is because Bob never wanted to exploit the children and felt that they would have better chance of growing up more normally without publicity." If Ursula has been determined to be a mother in every sense of the word, she is quick to point out that her husband is just as much father.

The father image was never so dominant as it is in the Taylor home. A firm believer in the "spare the spoil the cWW" cliche. Bob believes that a good spanking when the occasion calls for it is necessary and most affective. Speaking on the subject she has been closest to and certainly loves more than any other. Ursula to warm to the conversation.

"We are both firm believers in the importance of the parents' duty toward their children in training them to understand values, whatever they may be money, character or spirituality. It's a full tune job, and we are proud of the results with Manuela, now 18 and Michael. IS. Although Manuela is married now, we are happy to see how the awareness of these values kept her close to us. was for those reasons that my participation in "The 'Detectives" was not contracted for until it was understood that how often 1 would appetr would depend upon how all my duties at home could bt taken care of.

You know in addition to Manuela and Michael, we stili feel that a big job is to be ('one with little Terence. 6, and Tessa now a year and a half old." To Hollywoodians who know the couple welt, most amazing was the fact that it was Taylor who invited his wife to join the team. He did so when prodded by the producers of the program, who had several thousaivd letters from viewers complaining that Taylor, Jong the prototype at Hollywood romantic stars, didn't so much as wink at a woman in any of his initial 39 detecting adventures last Fortunately, "togetherness" has proved as successful on screen as off for Ursula and Bob. In what she considers an ideal role for her as a police reporter, she provides heart interest for her real life husband Jn his ABC-TV series. WHO? A protege of Mordecai Gorelik, he has designed sets for more than a dozen off-Broadway plays, Winter and Summer stock shows and for television.
