Emergency workers took the Piper PA-28 off the northbound lanes of the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx at about 6 p.m. Saturday. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio says the plane was headed back to a Connecticut airport after touring the Statue of Liberty when it experienced engine trouble and set down on the highway at about 3:20 p.m.

De Blasio says the pilot and two passengers were being treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. Dorothy loved to read and crochet. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary and her brothers Emil and Edward. MARGARET PINTER AGE: 90 BRIDGEWATER Margaret (Krutulis) Pinter, Charles of Bridgewater, NJ the Hazlet First Aid and she enjoyed many years at the Hazlet Swim and Tennis Club with her family and friends. In 1990 she moved to Newfoundland, PA where she lived for almost 20 years next door to her family and spent many happy days babysitting her grandchildren and teaching them to dance. Katherine was a member of the PA Red Hats Society and a parishioner of St.

Anthony's Church of Newfoundland. At Church she shared many special family events with Kate, John, Pilar, Johnny, and Amelia Rose Napolitano. For a short time Katherine also lived in the Geneva House in Scranton, PA, where she made special friends. Her many visits from Gayle, Alex, and Peter DeFlice, Billy, Bobby, Judy, Jackie and Ryan Hummer always made her feel special. In 2011, she moved back to Hazlet because Katherine loved the Jersey Shore and was a true "Jersey Girl," in every sense of the way.

She enjoyed a good party, loved to sing and dance and was a proud "Irish Girl, "as well. Katherine's family was the most important thing to her and she treasured her memories of times spent together and she will be sorely missed by all. A private family Mass and burial are scheduled this week at St. Agnes R.C. Church, Clark and Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Katherine (nee Lucey, De-Flice) Wyluda, age 76, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy illness at Manor by The Sea, Ocean Grove, NJ. Born in Orange, NJ, she is predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Catherine Lucey from Ireland, a sister Margaret Hummer, a daughter Katherine Napolitano of Newfoundland, PA, and her husbands Robert DeFlice, Sr.

and Joseph Wyluda. Surviving are, her daughter Robin DeFlice of Bradley Beach, NJ and three sons; Robert DeFlice Jr. of Greentown, PA, Anthony DeFlice of Sicklerville, NJ and Darrin DeFlice Frisco, TX. Along with her children she is also survived by her brother Daniel Lucey. Katherine had many family members who loved her especially he 4 daughter in laws, 1 son in law, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 6 nephews and several cousins.

She also leaves behind her longtime companion, Al London of PA, whom she shared many happy and fun special days. Katherine was a long time resident of Hazlet, NJ and was a dedicated worker at Charles of The Ritz in Hol-mdel, NJ. She volunteered in the Lady's Auxiliary of beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, age 90, of Bridgewater, formerly of Lakewood, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Bridgewater. Born in Old Forge, PA, she lived in Hillside NJ for 30 years, Brick, for 24 years, and Leisure Village in Lake-wood for 6 years prior to moving to Bridgewater. She worked as a quality control technician for Bristol-Myers in Hillside for 33 years prior to her retirement.

Marge was a parishioner of St. Dominic's RC Church in Brick. She was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration and hospitals in the area. Marge was predeceased by her BELOVED husband of 68 years, Edward Pinter, three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Soffel and her husband ELIZABETH AGE: 68 WARETOWN Demosthenes John Sake-laris, 96, longtime resident of Marlton, passed away on Thursday, Jan.

2, 2014. He was a member of the "greatest Beloved husband of the late Carole A. Sakelaris. Dee J. is survived by his children, Byron and his wife Carol of West-mont, Paul of Maple Shade, and Anastasia and her husband Michael Maguire of Marlton; grandson, Sean Maguire of Marlton; cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Lowell, MA to Anastasia and John Sakelarios, "Tootie" was one of nine children. He attended Bartlett Jr. High School and graduated from Lowell High School in 1935. Like many of his time, he and his brothers were called to war in 1942. He served as a Tec 5 Corporal with the 433rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion with the U.S.

5th Army. Arriving first in Casablanca, he participated in the liberation of Af- RONALD A. AGE: After a courageous, two year battle with brain cancer, Ronald A. Venturi died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at the age of 58.

Born in 1955 to John Eleanor Venturi, Ron grew up on the ball fields and in the gymnasiums of Irvington. A gifted athlete, Ron played multiple sports including varsity tennis and basketball at Irvington High School. Blessed with a keen intellect and an appetite for argument, after obtaining his B.S. M.B.A. from Se-ton Hall University, Ron went on to receive his law degree from Seton Hall in 1986.

After graduation, Ron embarked on a successful career as a criminal trial attorney, garnering appointments as Municipal Public Defender and Prosecutor in Irvington and Hoboken. The pinnacle of his career came in 2002 with an appointment to the bench as a Municipal Court Judge in Irvington, where he served for five years. Ron was brave in facing the disease that took him. After his initial diagnosis and JOAN A. ZAMBETTI AGE: 81 TOMS RIVER Zambetti, 81, Ron Zambetti, daugh they remained in business until 1999.

He was a lifelong member of Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, and belonged to the VFW Post 7677 in Med-ford. He was hardworking, an avid sports fan, an excellent cook, a loving husband to his wife, a loving father to his children and a loving grandfather to his grandson. He will be missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday Jan.

VENTURI 58 treatment, which included surgery and a punishing regimen of post-operative therapies, Ron returned to the courtroom for more than a year, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues in the New Jersey State Bar Association, who named him Municipal Court Practitioner of the Year in 2013. A fine lawyer, Ron was an even better friend. A lover of travel, fine food wine, sports, and rock music, Ron will be remembered by his many friends for his wit, charm, generous fun-loving spirit, and ubiquitous savior-faire. The true loves of his life, though, were his wife, Tracy, and beloved son, John, who were a constant source of joy and pride, and by whom he will be deeply missed. Ron is also survived by his brother, Jack Venturi, his adoring niece and nephew, Sharon and Justin Venturi, his loyal sister-in-law, Marsha Venturi, his Aunt Marlene, cousins, Marty Dafner, Camille Rankin, and Dr.

John Cozzone, as well as a multitude of family friends. She was a resident of Colts Neck for 38 years prior to retiring in Waretown in 2011, after having dedicated 20 years of federal service with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Joan A passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Somerset Medical Center. She was born in Plainfield, raised in South Plainfield and resided in Watchung for most of her life until moving to Toms River in 1984. She was a former communicant of St. Mary's Stony Hill Church. She was a past president of the WOWS club in Toms River.

She loved going to the boardwalk especially to the Coin Castle in Seaside Heights. The things she loved the most were holiday cooking, boat rides with her family, attending Chinese auctions with her friends, collecting snow globes and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband Ronald L. Zambetti in 2012. Mrs.

Zambetti is survived by her son, IRMA MEYER AGE: 87 MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP Irma Meyer, 87, of Millstone Township, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in New York City, New York. She was the owner and operator of Silver King Farm, and later worked at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson Township, for three years, just for the fun of it. Mrs. Meyer was a deacon at the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone; Life Member of the Millstone Elks Lodge No.

2613; served on the Monmouth County Election Board; served as Millstone Township Hospital Auxiliary President from 1980 to 1982, and again in 1985; and in her earlier years was involved with the Millstone Township Boy Scouts. She was a lover of animals and was a people person. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Meyer. Surviving are two sons, Robert and Carl Meyer; two grandsons; and a great granddaughter. Freehold, passed away at home on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Viera was born in Lutsk, Ukraine before coming to America. She retired in 1986 from Brockway Glass Freehold where she worked for over 23 years. Viera was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Irvington.
