Addition of a motion-picture section to the established sections for prints and color slides is history repeating itself.

The Louisville Photographic Society started about 17 years ago as the Louisville Movie Club, said to have been the first camera club in the country devoted exclusively to motion- picture photography in color. The club's name became "Photographic Society" when a still section was added. Interest in moviemaking waned as the still photographers gained in number; an international competition for prints was established in 1944, later expanded to include color slides. So, after more than a decade, the old Movie Club renamed to suit a broader functionagain turns its attention to motion-picture photography. Dr.

T. Norbert Kende, motion-picture chairman (and winner of the P.S.A. 1953 Convention Film Award), is pleased that 13 films were submitted in this first year of the new activity. Winning films, as rated, are: First, "Merry Christmas," filmed by S. J.

Hazard, New York City; second, "Insect Catchers of The Bog Jungle," by William Harlow, Syracuse, N. third, "Dark Interlude," by William Messner, Teaneck, N. J.
