The crash happened at about 4:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Club Drive, according to police Sgt. William Hoffman, a spokesman for the department.

"The crash was minor," Hoffman said. He said the motorist was attempting to navigate his vehicle into a driveway, but instead "ricocheted off one house and into the air-conditioning unit of the other house." Hoffman said there was no structural damage, and no injuries were reported. "The driver did not go to the hospital," he said. The post office will now recognize letters sent to the neighborhood, located in the northeast section of the township, if Hazlet is written on them, Borough Administrator Dennis Pino said.

But the post office will not switch the neighborhood's ZIP code: It will continue to use Keans-burg's 07734 instead of Hazlet's 07730. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. wrote a letter to Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahoe requesting the change.
