They were Pfc. Paul Joseph White, 20, of 632 E. Ormsby, and Sgt. Edward A. Mayer, 23, of 628 E.

Ormsby. The services are set for 8:30 a.m. at Russman's Chapel and at 9 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church.

White will be buried in St. Michael Cemetery and Mayer in St. Louis Cemetery. Friends since their childhood days, the two went to St. Vincent de Paul School.

Both belonged to the Holy Name Society. Mayer entered the Army in December, 1942, and was killed April 10, 1945, in Meggen, Germany. White entered service in April. 1943, and was killed near Funeral Held At Cralle's Funeral for Frank B. Ayres, 78, former secretary-treasurer of the Louisville Industrial- Foundation, were held at 4 p.m.

yesterday at Lee Cralle's. Burial will be to-dav at Belleville, 111. Ayres. who died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at his home, 2716 Lexington Road, had beenwith the Foundation since 1920.

He retired last year. He also had served as secretary to the board of directors of the Bade-Cum-mins Manufacturing Company, the General Shoe Lace Company, the Kane Manufacturing Company, and the Koch Manufacturing Company. He also was former secretary of the old Hoffman Gas Electric Heater Company, later bought by Clayton Lambert Manufacturing Company. He was a member of the American Industrial Development Council, the Rotary Club, and the Highland Presbyterian Church. Ayres began his career with the Missouri Pacific Railway in 1888.

Carter, who founded the Carter Dry Goods Company, died at 4:40 a.m. yesterday at his home, 436 Country Lane. He had been employed at the dry-goods company since 1928. He was a member of the Louisville Lodge of Masons, the Scottish Rite and Kosair Shrine. Survivors are his wife, Mrs.

Esselmann George H. Esselmann, 55, veteran of World War I and employee of the Louisville Gas Electric Company, died at 3:30 a.m. yesterdav at Nichols Hospital. He lived at 2915 Alford. Survivors are his wife, Mrs.

Sarah Esselmann; son, George H. Esselmann, three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Darneal, Mrs. William Bedard and Mrs. Louise Houghlin, and a brother, Louis Esselmann, St.

Bunnell. 20, who was shot down over Italy January 16. 1944, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Lee Cralle's. Burial will be in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery.
