Kolars Second In Lineman's Rodeo Melvin Kolars, Belleville, placed second in the Midwest Regional Lineman's Rodeo July 25 at the Western Resource facility in Topeka.

Kolars was teamed with two other linemen from other parts of the state to compete in events like poletop rescue, fuse changeout, boom truck operating, grounding, pole piking, throw line, speed climbs, aerial rescue and work climb. Kolars, who has been employed with the NCK Electric Cooperative for 32 years, was the only rural electric cooperative lineman participating in the event. ST. Ar- Michael Cady Michael Cady, son of Keith and Margaret Rugg Cady, was born January 19, 1940, at Scottsville', Kansas, and died July 30, 1998, at Horton, Kansas, at the age of 58 years. He attended the Scandia schools.

He served a short time in the US Air Force before he was discharged because of a disability. He worked in construction most of his life and had been a truck driver. He moved to Horton, Kansas, from St. Joseph, Missouri, in 1978. He was united in marriage to Barbara Black on April 5, 1964, at Alma, Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, a daughter, Brenda Cady of Horton, Kansas, a son, Patrick Cady of Topeka, Kansas, his mother, Margaret Cady of Mun- dclein, Illinois, three sisters, Bonnie Williams of Udall, Kansas, Dee Tiller of Kingman, Kansas, and Rebecca Hopkins of Mundelein, Illinois, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 3, 1998, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Horton, Kansas. Burial was made in the Horton Cemetery, Horton, Kansas. Alabama. He was a member of the Ministerial Association, Community Concert Association, Sterling Arts Council, Logan County Hospital.

Rotary Club, Physicians Recruitment Committee, Hospice Chaplaincy Board, Logan County Youth Coordinating Council, and Centennial Mental Health Board. He was a leader in Boulder Presbytery serving as moderator. Chair of the General Council, and moderator of the Committee on Ministry. He is survived by his wife, Agnes, two sons, Vince of Broomfield, Colorado, and Elwyn of Las Vegas, Nevada, two daughters, Katharin Rundus Wirth of Seal Beach. California, and Carolyn Jan Lord of Berthould, Colorado, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the First United Presbyterian Church, Sterling, Colorado. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling, Colorado. Creighton Levi Cyr Creighton Levi Cyr, was born July 1, 1916, at Cloud County, Kansas, and died July 23, 1998, at Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 82 years. He was the former of Glass Decorators. He was a member of the Lincoln Church of Christ, Painting and Decorating Contractors of America, 1953-77.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dayton, and two sisters, Merna Chartier and Opal Watkins. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, two daughters, Julia Baker, Grand Island, Nebraska, Ruth Baker, Stevensville, six grandchildren, two great- granddaughters, a brother, Byron Cyr, San Diego, California, and three sisters, Lorna Lee Zenger, Haddam, Kansas, Nola Cochran, Reseda, California, and Joyce Thomann, Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 1998, at the Lincoln Church of Christ, Lincoln, Nebraska. Glenn Roper Glenn G.

Roper, son of Roy and Velda Faith Glenn Roper, was born March 12, 1935, at Courtland, Kansas, and died July 31, 1998, at the Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas, at the age of 63 years. He was a graduate of Courtland High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during 1957 1958. He worked in road and bridge construction for the Reece Construction Company.

Scandia, Kansas, a lumberyard in Dodge City, Kansas, Marymount College, Salina, Kansas, and a maintenance employee for the Penn Campus at Salina Regional Medical Center, Salina, Kansas. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and Alana Club, both of Salina, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife. Donna Roper in 1957, and second wife, Pauline Roper in 1978, a granddaughter, and two sisters, Delia Ruth Canfield and June Nitcher.

He is survived by three sons, Clifford Thibault, Maiikato, Kansas, Jim Crandall, Oakley, Kansas, and Jay Crandall, Denton, Kansas, three daughters, Renee Faber, Brewster, Kansas, Brenna Dill, Golden, Colorado, and Lori Wessel, Scl- den, Kansas, and a brother, Marvin Roper, Washington, Kansas, 21 grandchildren, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 1998, at the St. Johns Lutheran Church, Salina, Kansas, with Rev. Charles Aase officiating.

Burial was made in the Stevens Chapel, Rawlins County, Kansas. Opal M. Dabbs Opal M. Dabbs, daughter of James H. and Bessie L.

House Brant, was bom May 18, 1922, at Coffeyville, Kansas, and died July 31, 1998, at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas, at the age of 76 years. She worked at the Barons Hotel and Motel, Concordia, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Henry Clay Dabbs on October 16, 1944, at Nowata, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry in 1996, an infant daughter, Delores, and two sisters. She is survived by 'two daughters, Joyce M.

Woodbury, Concordia, Kansas, and Sylvia Lee Dehrkoop, Everly, Iowa, a son, Henry C. Dabbs Glen Allen, Virginia, three brothers. Jack Brant and Paul Brant, both of Independence, Kansas, and Charlie Brant, Coffeyville, Kansas, a sister, Helen Robbins, Banlesville, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 1998, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas, with Rev.

Duane Seitz officiating. Burial was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas. Rev. Dr. Ivan E.

Rundus Rev. Dr. Ivan E. Rundus, was born April 15, 1927, in Belleville, Kansas; and died July 31, 1998, at Sterling, Colorado, at the age of 71 years. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education Certificate from Kansas State College in 1951, and the Advanced Music Education Certificate in 1953, a Bachelor of Divinity and Master of Theology from Dubuque Theological Seminary and received Doctor of Divinity degrees from Buena Vista College in Iowa, and Hastings College in Nebraska.

Rev. Rundus was ordained in 1957 in Kansas by Solomon Presbytery in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He served churches in Cascade, Iowa, Amboy, Faribault, and Pipestone, Minnesota, before coming to First Presbyterian Church (ff Sterling in 1970, where he served for 24 years. He was united In marriage to Sara Agnes Smith on August 10, 1947 in THE. REALTY ASSOCIATES 1906 ST.
