Purvis was agent in charge of the F.B.I. squad that tracked down and killed Dillinger in front of the old Biograph movie house in Chicago the night of July 22, 1934. Purvis had directed the search for the desperado since 1932. He agents tracked down and captured or killed such criminals as bank robber and killer Floyd, kidnaper Vern Sankey, and members of the mob the late Touhy, who kidnaped John "Jake The of, Barber" Factor. Purvis left the F.B.I. in 1935. (As an F.B.I.

investigator, Purvis visited Louisville several times. Perhaps his most publicized visit was as a key Government witness in the Stoll kidnaping case, tried in Federal Court here in 1934. Abductor Got Long Term (The case involved the abduction of Mrs. Berry V. Stoll for a $50,000 ransom.

Her abuductor, Thomas J. Robinson, was convicted and sentenced a long term in Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, (Purvis' last visit here was as an attorney in July, 1958, when he appeared in Federal Court representing the M. P. S. L.

WELSH Dominick Welsh, a Louisville Nashville Railroad employee for 54 years, died at 10 p.m. Sunday at Bruce's Nursing Home, Jeffersontown. He was 76 and formerly lived at Few Acres Farm on Taylorsville Road near Jeffersontown. Welsh retired from the L. N.

six years ago as an inspector. He was a member of the L. N. Veterans Club and the Holy Name Society of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Elizabeth Miller; a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Nagel; two sisters, Mrs. James Phillips and Miss Mayme Welsh, and a brother, John. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Tay.

SPROAT John William Sproat, 59, an airplane mechanic, at 9:15 p.m. Sunday at Jewish Hospital after a month's illness. He lived at 2315 Ecton Lane. Sproat was an employee of Eastern A Air Lines at Standiford Field for the past eight years. He was a 25-year Air Force veteran and member of the Shively Moose Lodge, the Jefferson County Sportsmen's Club, the Dearborn Club, and the Louisville Turners.

Survivors include his wife, the former Edith Bee Wolz; a daughter, Miss Suzanna Sproat, and two brothers, Clarence D. and Charles, Sproat, both of Albany, The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the W. G. Hardy Funeral Home, 3415 West Broadway.

DERRY Alfred B. Derry, 68, of 1721 Sheridan Avenue, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Infirmary. He moved here about 10 years ago from Indianapolis, where he was a stock and bond salesman and a grain-market trader.

During most of the intervening years he has been ill, but he did work for a short time as an advertising salesman for Sports Service, Inc. The elder Green, a native of Louisville, formerly lived at 208 Kennedy Court. He lived at 400 N. Hubbards Lane in recent years. He was senior warden and senior warden emeritus of St.

Mark's Episcopal Church, 2822 Frankfort, for a total of 27 years. He had been a member of the church since its cornerstone was laid in 1895. Green had been a member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge since 1889. Green spent his adult life in the grain business. He owned and operated the old H.

Verhoff Company grain elevator for many years. His wife, Mrs. Maud Hunter Green, died in 1958. Survivors besides the son are another son, Jack W. Green; a daughter, Mrs.

J. R. Biven, San Pedro, and four grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2. p.m.

Wednesday at St. Mark's Church. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery. The body is at Pearson's, 149 Breckinridge Lane. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy the form of contributions take, Mark's Episcopal Church.

ANTHONY F. MOELLMANN Anthony F. Moellmann, 68, a retired plumber, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday at his home, 550 Barret. He retired eight years ago 43 years with Henry Krauth Plumbing Company.

He was a member of Local of the Plumbers Union. Survivors are his wife, the former Catherine Miller; a son, Kenneth Moellmann, and a brother, Henry Moellmann. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heady Funeral Home, 1201 E. Oak.

Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery. WILLIAM D. OURSLER William David Oursler, 74, of 2244 Date, died on the way to General Hospital at 9:30 a.m. Monday after being stricken at his home. He had suffered from a heart ailment for several years.

Oursler had worked as an enameler for American Radiator Standard Sanitary here for 33 years until his retirement seven years ago. He was a native of Jefferson County and was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, the former Edith Sophia Steinacker; two sons, George E. and Stuart W. Oursler; three daughters, Mrs.

Mildred E. Rose, Mrs. Anita Mae Jackson, and Miss Doris L. Oursler; eight grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Owen Funeral Home.

HIBBS Mrs. James W. Hibbs, a native of English, died at 10 p.m. Sunday at her home, 3632 Kahlert. Mrs.

Hibbs, 75, was the former Sarah Elizabeth Jobe. Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, H. Elmer Hibbs, Lexington, and Cecil Irvin and Richard H. Hibbs; a sister, Mrs. Hettie Buchert, Sacramento, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
