Her 1930 novel, "The Great Meadow," was Literary Guild choice for March that year.

Southerners Honor Her. The Southern Women's National Democratic Organization in New York gave her honorable mention in 1939 for "Black Is My True Lcve's Hair, novel the title for which was taken from an old Kentucky ballad. Other volumes included "My Heart and My Flesh," 1927; "Jingling In the Wind," 1928; "A Buried Treasure," 1931; "The Haunted Mirror," a book of short stories, 1932; and "He Sent Forth a Raven," 1935. When the 1935 volume was published its reception was un-enthusiastic, but it since has come to be regarded as possibly Miss Roberts' best.
