Centennial Celebration Under Way The announcement coincided with a weekend convocation beginning a three-year celebration of the seminary's centennial anniversary. Dr. Forrer was graduated from the seminary in 1898 after receiving a degree from Transylvania College here. He is a retired Presbyterian minister. The Forrers' philanthropy has provided more than $517,000 for the two Lexington colleges since 1956.

In that year, the Forrers gave $25,000 to help build Ministers Memorial Hall at the seminary. Two years later they gave $117,000 to furnish Forrer Hall, a Transylvania women's dormitory named for them.
