Karberg Mrs. John C. Karberg. 82, Janesville resident for more than 65 years, died at 8:35 p. m.

Sunday in her home, 510 Milton avenue. She had been ill for the past year. Bom in Pommern, Germany. March 3, 1866. the former Anna Kamrad came to the l-nited States in 1872 locating: in county.

Mi.ss Kamrad and John C. Karberg were the second couple to be married in the new St. Paul's Liitberan church May 29. 1884. Mrs.

Karberg was a charter member of the rhurch, had been with the Ladies Aid society and until hnr health failed was active in parish work. For marfy years following the death of her husband in August, 1935. Mrs. Karberg lived alone keeping up her home and work- in? in her garden. Sun'iving are one son.

Arthur F. Karberg: two grandchildren. John and Jane Karberg. both of Janesville. nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday in Paul's church, the Rev. Marl in C. Droegemueller to officiate.

Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the Reining funeral home Tuesday evening or at the church after 11 a. m. Wednesday when the body will be removed from the funeral home. lowing an illness of two m.onths.

Hanchett Mrs. Elizabeth Lannon Elizabeth Devine Lannon, 88. died at a. m. Monday at Lakeland hospital, Elkhorn after a short illness.

Daughter of Mr. and Cornelius Devine she was born i Oct. 19, 1860. Miss Devine and William Lannon were married in the old south woods Catholic church west of Sharon. The couple lived on a farm.

The funeral will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday in St. Catherine's Catholic church, the Rev. Peil to officiate.

Burial will be in St. Catherine's cemetery. The rosary will be recited at Lannon home Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Lawrence Wille Lawrence Wille. four-month- old son of Mr.

and Mrs. Albert Wille, route 2. Janesville, died suddenly Sunday morning in the home of his parents. He was born Oct. 30, 1948, In Janesville.

Survivingr are his parents; paternal grandfather. Ben Wille; maternal grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kuster.

Mrs. Harriet Baer Mrs.

Harriet Elsie Baer, 74, died Sunday morning in the home of her son-ia-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C. Chester Sexton, 868 Blaine avenue, with whom she resided. She was born in Sussex.

Wis. Surviving are one son, Virgil Baer. Galesville, one daugh- Mrs. Sexton, and seven grandchildren. The funeral will held at 2:30 p.

402 South Fourth street, Sunday night of a heart attack. He had been in ill health lor about a year. Born in Norway, he came to the United States after his marriage 43 years ago. For many years he was a farm.er, coming to Delavan four years a'go. Until his health failed a year ago.

he was employed by the Borg Corporation. Surviving arc his wife; sons; lour daughters, two stepsons and two step-daughters. Funeral services will be held Wednesdav at Melrose. with burial at Whitehall, Wis. Mrs.

Mary Bless Fort Atkinson Mrs. Mary Bless, 77, of 74 Jackson street, died at 8 a. m. Sunday in St. Mary's hospital, Watertown, fol- Servicas for John C.

Hanchett, 1024 Oakland avenue, who died in Mercy hospital Saturday morning, will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Overton funeral home. The Rev. John R.

Emil Klement Fort Atkin.son—Emil Klement, 73, a lifelong resident of Jefferson county, died at 3:45 a. m. Monday in his home, .531 Robert street, after having been in failing health since January.

The immediate cause of death was a stroke suffered Sunday evening. Mr. Klement was born June 26, 1875, in the town of Sumner and was married there Jan, 5, 1897, to Lizzie Becker. They moved to Fort Atkin.son eight years ago. He was a member of Friedens Evangelical and Reformed church.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Leslie, Fort Atkinson; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Martin, West Bend, Mrs. Lee Mathews and MrS: Ted Jankowski, both of Milwaukee; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hammel, Lincoln, Mrs. Carrie Wileman and Mrs.

Emma Hammes. both of Fort Atkinson; four brothers, George, of Lincoln, Roy, Sam and Fred, all of Fort Atkinson; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in Friedens church, the Rev.

m. Thursday until the funeral hour. Lt. Horace Brown Whitewater Burial services for Lt. Horace R.

Brown will be held March 7 in Arlington cemetery, Wa.shington. D. according to word received by his father. Clinton Brown, this city. The body of Lt.

Brown was recently sent home from China. A navigator on a B-29 based in China, Lt. Brown was reported missing in action Nov. 24, 1944, on his first mission over Japan when the plane crashed and was demolished by flames in Japanese occupied China. Two other Oificers killed in the crash and three of the crew who parachuted to the ground were captured, tortured and finally put to death.

Lt. Brown was declared officially dead by the army air force in 19-15. Henry M. Friis Services for Henry M. Friis were held at 1:.30 p.

Norman Chatfieid. A short talk was given by Rev. L. Knutzen appropriate to the observance of Lent and Mrs. Charles Candy gave a reading.

"When Martha came to Valley Forge to Celebrate George's Birthday," which contained a description of the National Shrine there. A reading was by Mrs. Nancy "A Perfect Tribute," and Miss Gyneth Wendt, who spent two years in Germany as librarian of the special services, gave a talk on the work that is being done by this group for the men in service. She also helped to establish a library in Tripoli while overseas. Booster Meet Tuesday The Booster meeting of the Milton 4-H club will be held Tuesday, March 1, at 8 in the Grange hall.

Parents of the m.embers are to be guests. The program committee includes Norman Everson, Arthur Frederick and Sheila Manogue, and they have secured Mr. Glassco to show motion pictures. A group of the older club girls, Marion Powers, Esther Everson, Marilyn Chatfieid and Yvonne Marquart will serve on the refreshment committee. The club chairman, Mrs.

J. Paul Green, says that all members who have not handed in their enrollment cards are to do so at this meeting. Milton Junction Briefs Mrs. Roy Hamblingson, Milwaukee, came Saturday afternoon for a stay in the William R. Howland home.

Laymen's Sunday was observed in the Methodist church Sunday morning with Kenneth Strieker conducting the service. Others taking part were Mrs. Myrtie Sherman, Larry Astin, Mrs. Charles Gandy and Striegl. Mrs.

James Burhans, who Is helping care for Mrs. Mary Patterson in the Clarence Carroll home, spent Sunday in her home here, A patriotic program was given at the meeting of Friendship Chapter, Eastern Star, last week. It included the singing of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "Tenting Tonight" by Ivan Fitz Randolph and the reading of "The Perfect Tribute," by Mrs. Nancy Kidder. Mr.
