Louise Randle died at a local hospital September 20. 1944. She was born Louise Krichner, February 23, 1867 in Germany, and came to America at the age of six years. She married J. N.

Randle in 1886 in Winnenucca. Nevada, coming to Eugene in 1892. Mr. Randle died in 1916. Since then she her home with her son "Edward at 1432 Orchard.

Survivors are eight children: James L. of Eugene: A. of Monroe, Washington; Edward O. of Eugene: Frank R. of Vallejo: Mrs.

A. G. Heaton of Eugene: Mrs. Howard Platt of Eugene: Mrs. M.

G. Porter Salem: Mrs. Alice Tengs of Vallejo; fitteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren: three brothers and one sister are, in Nevada. Funeral services will be held from the Veatch-Hollingsworth chapel, Saturday, September 23 at 10:30 a. m.

Interment will be in the Laurel Hill cemetery BABBITT Roger Alan Babbitt died at Oakland. Monday, 18. He was born in Wessington, S. Dakota, Novemand came to Oregon in 1934, living in Eugene and Portland before moving to Reedsport in 1936. He attended Springfield high school the last of his junior year.

He was a member of the Reedsport graduating class of 1944. and moved to Oakland six months ago. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.

D. Babbitt: a sister, Vera Jane all of Oakland: a brother, Boyd A. in the U. S. navy.

Funeral services will be held from the Phil Bartholomew chapel. Friday at 2 p. m. Rev. Ellsworth Tilton officiating with interment in the Rest Haven cemetery.

BENNETT- Sophia Ann Bennett. a resident Swisshome for the last 21 years, died at her home on September 20, 1944. She was born in Bloomville. Illinois is on October 30, 1865. Eight years later she moved with her family to Nebraska, where she married Luther Bennett in 1881.

Swanson, Tacoma, fireman, and Donald L. Sweeney, Centralia, brakeman. Seven others were Injured as two Northern Pacific freight trains collided about 15 miles south of here. First of the trio of wrecks occurred Monday night at Castle Rock when a Great Northern freight sideswiped a. Northern Pacific freight pulling out of a siding.

One man was killed and three injured. Tuesday morning Gov. Thomas E. Dewey's presidential campaign train crashed into the rear of another train which had stopped at the scene of the Castle Rock wreck. Fifty were injured.
