ANN LANDERS SAYS Ex-Pot Smoker Reacts to Letter DEAR ANN LANDERS: I would like to comment on "Pot Smoker's Masterpiece." I am 20 years old and experienced with pent. I'd like to say ifihat in addition to being an awful speller, she is also an awful fool. The penson who gets stoned every day gets wrecked. The term "wrecked" means Hhey are sio freaked out they are to speak coherently, too zonked to walk or even sitay awake. When the girl wrote to say pot has made her a brilliant conversationalist, I lauglhed.

Here is a typical conversation between two potheads: "God, am I "Yeah, me, too. I'm in a wild groove, man." "The record is finished but I don't think I can get up to change it." "Man, am I wrecked The potheads who read this xvill probably say I'm crazy but I dare them to sit in on a pot party and stay straight 'and monitor the conversation. In the two yeairs that I blew grass I never met one person who didn't try somefihing stronger. I swore I never would, but I did. I tripped on blotter acid four or five times, hit a bummer and quit cold turkey, soared out of my skull.

Now I'm engaged to a great girl and off of everything. I dread the day when I have to sweat out our first child to see if he has any deformities. We were told by a good doctor that the chances are 500 to one that our kids wffl be O.K., but I still lie awake nights worrying. It wasn't worth Ex- Head Dear Cle: Thanks for the testimony. Are you listening, students? It's one of your own speaking.

DEAR ANN LANDERS: When I (reaid "Mamma's Special Recipe" on how to be the perfect mother-in-law I got an attack of indigestion. "One closed eye and one mouth shut" adds tip to one hypocrite. If she noticed with one eye that her daughter-in-law's living-room draperies fatad not been cleaned in five years, I'd bate to' think what she'd see if she used two. What's sto cartasitropWiC about a dinty dishrag in the corner of a sink? If the dishrag were in the corner on the floor I might raise an eyebrow, but it still wouldn't give me a coronary. Mamma complained that the paint was peeling off the walls.

I'll bet if that girl knew what tier mother-in-law really bought of her housekeeping, the relationship wouldn't be so Truth Dear Truth: Sorry about your indigestion, but I buy Mamma's recipe. I'd say one eye closed and one mouth shut is nof too big a price to pay for a wonderful relationship with a daughter-in-law. In foot, I recommend it. Dear ANN: My husband I are certain that our lhandsoime, talented 21-year-old son is a homosexual. Some days I am so upsett over this I cannot function.

We want to (help our son live a normal life. How do we confront In Illinois Detair Bl: You need counseling to learn how to deal with a situation that is probably irreversible. Your therapist will advise you on how (or if) to approach the Iboy. It might well be that you are much unhappier than he is. Unsure of yourseilf on dates? Whait's right? What's wrong? Should you?
