Henry HI, the drama critic for Time magazine and the author of biographies of Jack Benny and Jackie Gleason. died Tuesday In Maidenhead, England.

He was 44 and lived In Plainfleld, N.J. The cause was a heart attack, said Robert Pondlsclo, a spokesman for Time. Henry joined the staff of Time In 1981, covering politics and culture, after winning two Pulitzer Prizes as a reporter for The Boston Globe. In 1985 he was named Time's drama critic. From 1989 he was also a senior writer, contributing articles on the press and politics.

After graduating from Yale, he began writing for The Boston Globe. He turned to Journalism as a career, he said, because "there aren't many parts for a short, plump actor who can't sing or dance." In 1980, he Joined The New York Daily News as a critic at large and a columnist. His books Include Visions of America (1985), on the 1984 presidential campaign, and two show-business biographies. Nathan was vice president of Florenz a Detroit-based training organization, for many years. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Nathan was a 1925 graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, and a 1961 graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit. He was a member of St.

Andrew Presbyterian Church. Mr. Nathan was an author and wrote 24 Questions in Group Leader- Noah Byrkett, 98, was veteran of World War I Services for Noah O. Byrkett. 98, Lebanon, an Army veteran of World War 1 and a charter member of two veterans groups, will be at 10:30 a.m.

Thursday in Russell and Hitch Funeral Home, Lebanon. Calling will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. He died Monday.

Mr. Byrkett, who served In France during the war, was a charter member of American Legion posts in Lebanon and Whitestown. As a veteran, he marched In every Independence Day parade here since World War I. lie had been a farmer for most of his life. He had also worked at Winkler's Factory.

Lebanon, and had owned a skating rink in Whitestown. He was a charter member of Methodist Pleasant View Church, Whitestown. Mr. Byrkett was the widow of Dyanthe Wynkoop Byrkett. GEORGE F. ALTES 91. Indianapolis, died Monday. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Moore and Kirk Irvington Chapel, with calling from 10 a.m.

He had been a custodian at the Kfng Cole Building 15 years, retiring in 1974. Previously, Mr. Altes worked for Burnet Binford Lumber Co. 10 years. He was the widower of Alice Loretta Altes.
