Compared to this series premiering Monday, Beavis and Butt-head looks like a masterpiece of social satire. The brothers in question are Frank, Tony, Bing, Dean and Sammy who, despite their crooner names (as in Sinatra, Bennett are pale, slobbering creatures with bulging eyes and sagging, heavily veined bodies.

(Their whole bodies look bloodshot.) Baby boomers may be reminded of Rat Fink, the loathsome-looking hot rodder created by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth back in the '60s. They slap foreheads as a form of relaxation and indulge in other physical slapstick unprintable in a family newspaper.
