Seek the advice of your doctor, and especially ask him or her If there is a treatment program for eating disorders In your community.

Simply urging your daughter to eat more probably won't solve it; she needs help, and you must do all you can to get it for her. In addition, encourage your daughter to turn to Christ and commit her life to Him. God loves her and doesn't want her to harm her life. When she realizes this, It will help her admit her problems and seek the help she needs. May God bless you.

Question: We are worried about our teen-age daughter, because she seems obsessed with her weight and is not eating right. We plead and plead with her to eat more but she thinks she is overweight or some Graham thing and refuses. Now she is almost skin and bones, and we don't know what to do except to ask people to pray for her. Mrs. V.Y.

Answer: This Is a serious situation, and I know many people who are reading this will pause to pray for you and your daughter. The Bible tells us to "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful" (Colossians How does God answer our pray Billy ers when we face problems like this? Sometimes He Intervenes directly (such as helping your daughter realize she has a problem and making her willing to do something about it). Often, however, He answers our prayers mainly by giving us wisdom to know what to do next. "The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs" is God's promise to His people (Isaiah 58; 11). Pray, therefore, that God will give you wisdom to help your daughter.
