Taylor, formerly of 923 Lincoln who died Wednesday in Newman Memorial County Hospital. The services were conducted by the Rev.

Allen A. pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. The soloist was Trevor Lewis, the organist was Mrs. Robert Lenigan, and the pallbearers were Howard Frazier, Martin A. Schlesener, Donald Bailey, and Albert Carl and Joseph Hotzel.

Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Relatives who attended from out of town were Fred Taylor, Portland, Mr. and Mrs. William G. Campbell, Kansas City, Mr.

and Mrs. Glen Hebb, Rosa Warner, and Edna Gardner, Topeka: Louis Weimer, Lebo; and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Weimer, Carbondale. Colburn Services Held Funeral services for W.

C. Colburn, 428 South Union who died Tuesday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Topeka, were held Friday afternoon in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel- They were conducted by Col. (ret.) Wilford Riegle and Col. (ret.) Arthur Ericsson. The organist was Mrs.

Robert Lenigan and the pallbearers were Alan and Dwane Robinson, Charles B. Goodell, Chester L. Chandler, Kenneth Bazil, and Evan W. Roberts. Graveside services in Memorial Lawn Cemetery were conducted by Ball-McColm Post 5 of the American Legion.

The chaplain was the Rev. David W. Isaac, the bugler was Kenton Thomas, and members of the color guard were Lowell Kraum, Earl Miller, Clayton Hobble, Frank Keating, and Rex M. Bishop. Relatives who attended from out of town were Messrs, and Mesdames J.

D. Robinson and Russell Van Bibber, Wichita; Mr. and Mrs. Alan Robinson, Manchester, and Mr. and Mrs.

Albert Aldrich and Mrs. J. H. Pope, Lee's Summit, Mo. Mrs.

Charles Peak Dies Mrs. Charles V. Peak, formerly of Emporia, died Friday in Newton, where she had lived since 1944. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Roberts-Blue- Barnett Chapel.

They will be conducted by the Rev. Jon Jones, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Newton. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Mrs. Peak, the former Lucinda B.

Lusk, daughter of James and Delia Lusk, was born Nov. 20th, 1882, in Burrton. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton. Mrs. Peak was preceded in death by her husband, who died June 8th, 1956, and she is survived by six sons, Harley, of GaryviUe, Roy, of Haute, Ray, of WaKeeney, Junior, of Stafford, and Keith and Maurice, of Newton; two daughters, Mrs.

Vernon (Juanita) George and Mrs. Dean (Ethel) Merry, both of Newton; one brother, Lloyd Lusk. Topeka: one sister, Elsie Carey, Wichita; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. SCHOAP SERVICES HELD COTTONWOOD FALLS Funeral services for Henry R. Schoap who died last Saturday in Newman Memorial County Hospital in Emporia, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Croy Funeral Home.

They were conducted by the Rev. Robert Graf of Woodbine. The pianist wsa Mrs. Joseph Brown and the pallbearers were Ronald Sparks, Mark Miller Edward Spencer, and Eugene, Walter, and June Talkington. Burial was in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Woodbine. HALL SERVICES HELD COTTONWOOD FALLS Funeral services for Mrs. De- Ibert Hall, who died Sunday in Pahokee, were held Friday afternoon in the Brown-Bennett Funeral Home. They were conducted by the Rev. Delbert Hall.

The soloist was Elmore Stout, the accompanist was Doris Stout, and the pallbearers were Richard and Douglas Peck, Eugene Talkington, Tom Burton, Kenneth Brent, and George Yeager. -fr Gazette Want Ads Get Quick Results Native Emporian to Perform As Guest Soloist at E-State Jack Mouse, writer, teacher, and drummer, will be guest artist at the Jazz Workshop Scholarship Concert scheduled for March 5th at Emporia State College. Mr. Mouse, a former student at Emporia State, has performed with such groups as Tommy Mercer, Stan Kenton and 'Doc' Severinsen and the Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller orchestras. After graduating from college in 1969, Mr. Mouse spent one year as a drummer with the Air Force Drum and Bugle Corps, and three years as the featured drum soloist with the official stage band of the Air Force Academy, "The Falconaires." In 1974, he was a percussion judge for the Mid-America Music Association Festival in Kansas City.

He is a contributing percus- sion columnist for "The Educator," the official magazine of the National Association of Jazz Educators and plays for many national radio and television commercials. A native Emporian, Mr. Mouse is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H.

Mouse, 1716 Trow- man Way. The Jazz Workshop Scholarship Concert, an annual event at Emporia State, is a benefit performance for scholarships awarded to music students at the college. The concert features two jazz bands, each numbering 19 students. This year's concert will be at 8:15 p.m. March 5th, in Albert Taylor Hall.

Tickets for the performance are available from members of the Jazz Workshops and at Garrison's and Lenigan's music stores in Emporia. Two Programs About Growth of Emporia To Be on Television The multi-media slide presentation prepared for showing at the two public forum discussions on Emporia's growth will be shown several times on Emporia State's Cablevision channel 8 early in the week.

The production, "Emporia: Town or City? A Time for Decision," will be shown at 2:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The 25-minute presentation outlines Emporia's growth from the city's founding in 1857 to today and discusses policy decisions regarding growth and the effect of those decisions upon the city today. The public forums are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

on Monday and at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The forums in the Social Lecture Hall of the Memorial Union at E-State will be open to the public. The program will consist of the multi-media presentation, a panel discussion, and a question and answer session. (E-State News Release) fr Hospitals St.

(E-State Photo) New Adult Education Classes Offered at V-T School Here Supervisory management II and ABC Stenoscript (speed writing) are two new adult education evening classes which will start next Monday at the Flint Hills Vocational-Technical School.

Supervisory management is a 40-hour class that will start at 7 p.m. Monday, and continue on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. through April 30th. Leslie Neff will teach the class. Tuition will be 16.06.

ABC Stenoscript is a 48-hour class that will start Monday at 6:30 p.m. and continue on Mon- and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. through May 7th. Tuition will be $4.85.

During the week of March 'more adult education classes will begin at the V-T School. Two separate classes hi tailoring of men's wear will be offered starting March 4th at 6:30 p.m. and continuing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. through April 24th.

The instructors will be Casandra lindberg and Velma Walker. Tuition will be $4.04. Construction of children's wear is a 40-hour class that will start March 3rd at 6:30 p.m. and continue on Monday and Wednesday evenings through April 23rd. Tuition will be $4.04.

Written by James Swedenburg of Salina, "KIDS" is a show for both children and adults. The script includes stories of excitement without cruelty or violence.

Songs in the sh'ow are intended to expand a child's personal horizons and to dispel the myths that distort reality such as "pretty equals good," "all mothers stay in the kitchen," and "boys don't cry." An Emporia student at Emporia State College, Miss Karen Greischar, was pledged Thursday evening as a provisional member of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. Miss Greischar, a freshman, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Greischar, 1303 Rural St. Thefts, Vandalism Police are investigating a report of an attempted armed robbery.

Beverly J. McClain, 125 South Mechanic told officers that she was accosted by an unidentified man Friday night in the vicinity of Eighth Avenue and Cottonwood Street. No further information was available early today. Two Emporia State students, Richard D. Harper andScott L.

Hoisted, were arrested early today on grand larceny charges. Police said that the two were arrested after a police officer stopped their car for failing to yield the right-of-way at a flashing red light. They are accused of stealing four empty beer kegs from Swafford Sales, 218 Constitution St. The kegs are valued at $340. A tape player, two speakers, two tape cases, a piece of imitation leopard skin, and 48 tapes were stolen from a car in the 'Didde-Glaser parking lot early Friday morning.

The car is owned by John C. Kreuger, 2220 Prairie and his loss has been set at $388.45. Currency including seven $20 bills, three $10 bills, one $5 bill, and four $1 bills, was taken from the Iowa Beef Processors locker room Friday. The money belongs to Gilbert G. Chavez, 224 South Market St.

Terry E. Barrett, 717 Weaver reported the theft of a shirt jacket. The garment was taken from Emporia High School Friday. Loss was set at $50. Vandalism was reported by Eugene M.

Farr, 1031 East Twelfth Ave. Vandals broke the left rear door window of his car while it was parked near his residence Thursday night and early Friday. Damage was set at $25. Jacque K. Hurt, 1015 East reported the theft of a tricycle.

She said that the tricycle, valued at $10, was taken Wednesday night or Thursday, John J. Mitchell, 916 Garfield and Daniel S. White, 717 State reported the theft of billfolds.
