Ernest L. Willis, Columbia, became the bride of Mr. Austin C. Dobbins, son of Dr. G.

S. Dobbins and Mrs. Dobbins, Louisville. Dr. Dobbins performed the ceremony.

The bride wore a gown of starched chiffon and lace over taffeta with full sleeves, and a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses centered with a white orchid. The bridesmaids were Mrs. W. J.

Lotz, Roanoke, Mrs. Elizabeth S. Coleman, New Bern, N. Miss Dorothy Sears, Louis ville, and Mrs. Andrew Norgan, Baltimore.

Two were gowned in pale blue organza and two in lemon yellow, with long mitts of matching color, and carried garden flowers. Mrs. J. W. Oxner, Leesville, S.

was the matron of honor, and Miss Mary Elizabeth Willis, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Their dresses were of pink organza. Mr. John Wills. Chapel Hill, N.

C.t served as best man. A reception was held in the garden of the bride's parents, after which Mr. and Mrs. Dobbins left on their wedding trip to North Carolina. They will make their home in Chapel Hill.

Ferguson, Minneapolis, announce the engagement of their daughter. Miss Marilyn M. Rankin, Chicago, to Mr. William Ogden, son of Mr. and Mrs.

James R. Ogden, Sr. Miss Rankin was graduated from the University of Illinois, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Mr. Ogden, who served in the Navy with the rank of lieutenant, is a graduate of Purdue University and is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents on Chenoweth Lane. After their wedding trip to Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Balfour will make their home in Louisville. Out-of-town guests for the ceremony included Mr.

Charles W. Grant performed the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white marquisette with eyelet-embroidery ruffles and peplum, falling into a court train. She carried a white prayer book with white orchids. Her finger-tip veil of illusion was held by a coronet of orange Miss Alberta Hoagland, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.
