i i Anniston Star Hua: Has repaired watches for 22 years rings, earrings, all sorts of jewelry," says Hua. "Sometimes I can be working on two or three things at the same time. I stay busy." At any given time, there are more women's watches on his bench than men's. Shirley Worthington, representing the United Way of Montgomery said more people in Alabama have moved off welfare and into paying jobs in recent years. She said this shows that lower-income Alabamians have the will to improve their lives. But she added that many more could make that transition or stay in their new jobs with more governmental help. "Obviously we are not moving people out of poverty just by getting them off Weidler said. Arise policy analyst Mary Weidler said one way Arise plans to use the figures is to push for tax reform.

Mr. Price died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Survivors include his wife. Martha Howell Price of Anniston; a daughter and her husband, Diane and Gerald Alexander of Oxford; a brother and his wife, M.A. and Mary Price of Anniston; two grandchildren, James Keel and his wife, Julie, and Damon Keel; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smith, a Calhoun County native and lifelong resident, was employed with the production department of North American Bus Industry. He was in Special Forces with the Navy from 1958 to 1967. Triggs Memorial services for Wayne I. Triggs, 81, of Anniston will be Thursday at 1 p.m.

Triggs died Monday at National Health Care in Anniston. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Kilgore Young Triggs of Anniston; two daughters, Linda Triggs Dostie and husband, David, of Avon, Ind. And Toni Triggs Hathorn and husband, Arthur, of Anniston; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Triggs, a Wisconsin native, lived in Anniston 24 years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Army Otter Caribou Association, Retired Army Officers Association and the Brotherhood Protective Order of Elk. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marillyn Fanning Triggs. Turner JACKSONVILLE Private services for Joseph Turner, 92, of Jacksonville were Tuesday, at 1-1 a.m. at Forrestlawn Mausoleum Chapel with Rev.

Robert J. Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Forestlawn Gardens Mausoleum in Anniston with K.L: Brown Funeral Home Cremation Center in charge. Mr. Turner died Saturday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Turner of Jacksonville: two sons, Wayne J. Turner of Marlboro, N.J. and Bruce J. Turner of Montgomery; a grandchild, Michael Turner; a greatgrandchild, Joseph Turner; a niece and three nephews. Mr.

Turner, a World War II veteran, was a member of the VFW and the American Federation of Teachers. He graduated from Clemson University and retired as a teacher with the Woodbridge, N.J. Board of Education. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church, 308 7th Street, NE, Jacksonville, AL, 36265.
