MASSACHUSETTS transcript re / Radio-TV Timetable Week of Aug. 11th-Aug. 17th SATURDAY AFTERNOON, AUG. 10. 1963 Milton Berle Special Repeat Monday SUNDAY 7:30-8:30 (NBC) — Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color concludes its repeat two-parter, "The Mooncussers," a rousing swashbuckler set on Long Island in the 19th Century. (Color.) 10-11 (NBC) — Show of the Week repeats a reasonably sus- penseM spy yarn, "Two Faces of Treason," which stars Larry Blyden, Lloyd Nolan, James Daly and Martha Scott. (Color.) 10:30-11 (ABC) — An attempt to condense the civil rights story into a half-hour is made on Chronology of Crisis, the first of five specials on the question. Leading figures on both sides of the critical issue will appear on this. * * * MONDAY 8:30-9 (CBS) — Vacation Playhouse shows a sorry example of the pilot film, "Mickey and the Contessa." This deals with an unsuccessful f o o tb a 11 coach (Mickey Shmighnessy) and his glamourous housekeeper (Eva Gabor). 9-10 (CBS) — Phil Silvers and Polly Bergen make up the "Just Polly and Me" cast in the reoeat showing on The Comedy Hour Specials. It's a good hour of song and silliness. 9:30-10:30 (NBC) — The Milton Bcrle Show is a repeat of a special which has Uncle Miltie having fun, aided by Janis Paige, Lena Home, Laurence Harvey —and Jack Benny. (Color.) TUESDAY 8:30-9:30 (CBS)—Talent Scouts has Allen and Rossi. Jim Backus, Pat Carroll, Mamie Van Doren and Dick Shawn joining Merv Griffin in introducing new talents. 9:30-10:30 (NBC) — "In Search of a Son," repeated on The Dicl! Powell Show, is a story of a father's attempts to regain the love of his son. Dick Powell and Dean Stockwell are the principals. 10-11 (CBS) — Jules Munshin gives a little spark to The Keele Brasselle Show, which has another hour of light comedy and song. A fine pop singer, Felicia Sanders, is the other guest. * * * WEDNESDAY 9-10 (NBC) — "Dark Labyrinth," repeated on Kraft Mys- CLEOPATRA? —Milton Berl» masquerade! as the Siren of the Nile during one of the comedy sketches on the Monday repeat show of his color special "The Milton Berle Show" on NBC. On hand to help "Cl«o" is Jack Benny, Laurence Harvey, Lena Home and Janis Paige. tcry Theater, has Patrick O'Neal and Salome Jens trapped in a series of caves on Crete. GL 8-3719 WILLIAMSTOWN ney of Poh Lin," a touching story of a deaf and bb'Rd Chinese girl who finds help in a Massachusetts school. 10-11 (NBC)—The Ring Crosby Show is a repeat special, with Der Bingle joined by Bob Hope, Edie Adams and Gary Crosby for an hour of typical Crosby capers. * * * THURSDAY 9-10 (CBS) — Pure Science fiction is the theme of "Death Ship," repeated on Twilight Zone, Jack Klugman and Hose Martin star in this tale of a space ship's unusual discovery on a remote planet. 9:30-10 (ABC) — The Lively Ones has more of its imaginative staging, with Mel Torme, Frances Faye, Charlie Barnet, guitarist Eduardo Sasson and three young comedians featured.. (Color.) 10-11 (ABC) — "Hornblower," repeated on Alcoa Premiere, is a rousing swashbuckler, with young David Buck playing C. S. Forester's hero, English Navy Capt. Horatio Hornblower. * # * FRIDAY 8:30-9:30 (CBS) — Route 66 re- peats an episode in which Albert Salmi and Rip Torn play swamp boys who turn robbers. Glenn Corbett is their victim—but only for a time. 9:30-10:30 (CBS) —•"Bonfire," repeated on The Alfred Hitch- cock Hour,- is a good mystery with Peter Falk as the unusual heavy and Dina Merrill as his victim-elect. 10-11 (NBO — Another beauty show, The International Beauty Spectacular, comes along. This one, from Long Beach, Calif., will have dancing and singing as well as pretty girls. » * « SATURDAY 7:30-8:30 (CBS) — The Lucy- Desl Comedy Hoar repeats "Lucy Hunts Uranium," set in anc around Las Vegas, with Free MacMurray and his wife June Haver, joining the usual Lucille Ball crew. 7:30-8:30 (NBC) — A few mysterious elements make the Sam Benedict repeat a good one. The problem is why Gusti Huber triec to kill Paul Lucas, and why she will not try to defend herself. 8:30-9 (ABC) — Good folk music is dispensed on Hooienanay, with The Limeliters, Josh White. Elan Stuart and The New Los", City Ramblers performing at the University of Michigan. Vienna Philharmonic In 'Giselle' Sunday SCHENECTADY, NY. — Sonday, Aug. 11 from 4-5 p.m. WGFM will feature the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Herbert von Karajan presenting Adolphe Adam's "Giselle." This recording, made froir Adams's own orchestration, gives the listener some idea of how the ballet must have sounded a', its first performance . . . whet it was considered "wholly original.". "Giselle" U a ballet aboo'. a peasant maid who loves a nobleman and is unaware of hk identity. A jealous villager reveals his identity, Giselle loses her mind, and falls dead from madness. Later she is called from the dead and forced to lead the repentant Albrecht into a fatal dance. She succeeds however, hi saving his life by keeping close to the crocs which is outside the power of the spirits. At dawn the spirits and she return to their graves after she bids Albrecht farewell.
