No celebration was planned for today but their daughters and families plan to spend Sunday with them. Mr. Dalby was bot%. In England and came to this country when about six years old. Mrs. Dalby, the former Miss Emma Elchen, Is a daughter oft ho late FrederUk and Hannah F. Eichen. The couple farmed on the Eichen homestead, moving to this city in tho fall of 1942. They are bolh in good health and Mr. Dalby en- Joys truck farming. Although the call does not specifically nrentlon the vacancy in the county superintendent of schools office, caused by the court ouster of Karl Kerstein, It is generally understood that I hi. 1 board will act on the appointment of an acling county superintendent. Kerstein has slated that he plans to carry his fight to regain the post to the appellate court. The following filed applications with County Clerk Denhy R. Boring for Ihe position of county superintendent of schools: Charles E. McGee and Julius Podhadley, bolh of Girard; Earl .T, McNeeley, Gillespie, and F. A. Bertelti and Mike Makuh, both of Benld. Their applications were received last fall. Klnnl Signing Datn CARLINVILLE. - - Macoupin county farmers are reminded that Monday, March 31, is the final date for signing up to participate in the 1!)52 agricultural conservation program. Lester R. Miller, chairman of Ihe local PMA committee, slated that worksheets had already been completed for 1500 farms, covering approximately 45 percent of the county's cropland. In this sign-up, 166 farmers have requested assistance for sod watrrway construction and T22 for pasture improvement or establishment.
