Tape Is Nice, But It Won't Splice why don't the makers of motion pictures use video tape instead of film? I can't tell the difference between "live" and tape. In the movies, it would look as if the actors were really on stage .— Mrs. R. White, Norfolk, Va. The method used to shoot movies - —many takes of the same scene in long shot, medium close-ups and close-ups — requires a lot of editing to put the entire film together. And tape does not lend itself to editing as well as film, when shows are taped for television, they are run through an act at a time, in the manner of a stage play. And this wouldn't do for movies, • where a whole day's work sometimes produces one minute of finished film. Corbett—Sexy: This may start a feud for » girl even before she gets on television, but she said it. The girl is Marie Santell, who stepped into the ingenue lead in Broadway's "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" after months of understudying Preshy Marker. On the strength of that debut performance, Marie was signed for a lead on a Route 66 episode next season. And her first comment was this: "I'm so glad I'll have Glenn Corbett for my romantic partner. He's much sexier than George Maharis." WANT A NICE BIG YARD? Inviting patio, pretty landscaping on 3 Acres o-f land in a peaceful location.
