Mrs. John (Ardith) Burk-hart, council chairman, announced yesterday that the drive has netted $257,891.41. The goal was $350,000. The drive has been extended until April 15. The General," as the chairman calls herself, issued a challenge to her 9,000 "troops" to raise $50,000 by April 15 and she, with "the colonels" (vie e-chairmen), will come up with $40,000 to meet the original goal.
