ASSOCIATED PRESS London Steve Marriott, a 19fi()s pop star with the Small Faces group, died In his home Saturday in a fire that police said probably was started accidentally by a cigarette. He was 44. The fire started In his bedroom and destroyed the second floor and roof of the 1 Git) century cottage near Saffron Walden, 44 miles northeast of London. Marriott's third wife, Tool, had been staying with friends. They had no children.
