Clara avenue, pioneer Alameda resident, who died yesterday following an illness of one day. Green was stricken in his home Sunday and rushed to a local hospital where he died. His daughter. Mis. Mabel Green Osborn, before her marriage, won fame by swimming across San Francisco bay.

Among his survivors are a widow. Mrs. Annie Green, and two sons. Waller Green nnd George I'. Green Jr.

SAX FRANCISCO, Aug. 31. San Francisco's Spread of Work campaign of the Employment Committee of the Chamber of Commerce Is going ahead rapidly, according to X. R. Powley, executive vice-chairman, who announced that calls on COOfl employers throughout the city are now being completed.

Plans to aid each employer, wherever desired, to adopt spread of work program are being outlined and results discussed today and tomorrow bv vice-chairmen meeting with captains and lieutenants of teams. Service club presidents, who have offered to present the campaign program and ihe importance of it to their club members, met last Monday preparatory to addressing their hundreds of members. Next week the presidents of Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, Commonwealth and Commercial clubs will present the program at their weekly luncheon meetings.
