Mary's Parish Will Sponsor Friday Fish Fry A fish try, sponsored by St. Mary's parish, will be held Friday in the school hall. There will be continuous serving from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. In charge of arrangements are general chairman Mrs. Patrick Shiels and committee.

Modern Menus By GAYNOR MADDOX NEA Food and Markets Editor How does this chicken, fresh "peas and carrots in ,1 delicately flavored sauce, but- tiM-od new potatoes, tart grapefruit salad, and then fresh blueberry pie? That's what you would get at the home of Mrs. Robert T. Cochran of Summit, N.J. Mrs. Cochran, wife of a prominent fresh fruit and vegetable dealer, gave us two really fine rccipos to try.

Everyone in our family raved. llcrbcd Creamed Fresh Peas and Carrots (Yield: servings) Two cups sliced fresh carrots, 1-inch boiling water in pan, M- tvasiwon salt, 1 pound fresh peas, 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, 2 tablespoons flour, 1 cup vegetable water and milk, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 16 teaspoon ground black pepper, teaspoon ground sweet basil. Place carrots in saucepan with boiling water and the teaspoon salt. Cover. Cook until crisp-tender (about 8 minutes), adding peas 5 minutes before cooking time is up.

Drain liquid Jrom vegetables. Measure and add milk to make 1 cup. (Set aside for later -use), Melt butter or margarine in a saucepan, Blend in flour. Stir in the 1 cup vegetable water and milk. Cook until medium thickness, stirring constantly.

Add seasoning, peas and carrots. Fresh Blueberry Pie (Yield: 6 servings) Five cups fresli whole blueberries, 1 cup -sugar, teaspoon salt, teaspoon grated lemon rind, 3 tablespoons qyick-copking tapioca, 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, 1 tablespoon fresh Jemon juice, pasU'y for two-crilst 9-inch pie. Combine first 5 ingredients, Turn into a 9-inch pie pan, lined with unbaked pastry. Dot with butter or margarine and sprinkle with lemon juice. Top with 8 strips of pastry rolled Vg-inch thick, cut Ms-inch wide and one-inch longer than the Width oi the pie.

pot-luck supper attended by 60 members of the two organizations. After the post installation officers were installed tor the Auxiliary and installing conductress was Mrs. Joseph Pelletier, with Mrs. Oscar Quandt assisting. In addition to President Mrs.

Meirhofer, the officers are: Senior vice president, Mrs. Nellie Kelley; junior vice president, Mrs. Everett Calkins; secretary, Mrs. Earl Gilson; treasurer. Mrs.

Harvey Ruggles; chaplain, Mrs. Julius Johnson; conductress, Mrs. Richard Larson; guard, Mrs. James Schollard; three year trustee, Mrs. William Rayford; the four color bearers, Mrs.
