The family will receive friends this evening from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home of Ashland. Mr. Adams died Saturday at Clay County Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Winnie T.

Adams of Ashland; two sons, Joe Adams and Don Adams, both of Ashland; two brothers, John M. Adams of Ashland and Paul Adams of Sylacauga and a grandson, Tucker Adams of Birmingham. Pallbearers will be Loftin Smith, Wayne Smith, Hayt Gartney, Charles Stewart, Marvin Hann, Jack Glenn, Jessie Lee Jackson and Jimmy Smith. Adams was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he served on the administrative and finance committee. He was COfounder and co-owner of the Southland Manufacturing Co. Awbrey DALTON, Ga. Services for Austin M.

Awbrey, 95, of Dalton, formerly of Roanoke, are today at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Dalton with Rev. Billy T. Nimms officiating. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke with Love Funeral Home of Dalton in charge.

Mr. Awbrey died Friday at his home. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Strain Awbrey of Dalton; three daughters, Trudy Whale of Ocala, Janet Nelson of Dalton and Nancy Brittian of Atlanta; a son, Jim Awbrey of Dunwoody, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Awbrey was a native of Heard County, a former resident of Roanoke and a resident of Dalton since 1944.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dalton and the Scrap Iron Sunday School Class. He was also. a life member of the Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, Ga.

The Egyptian leader's five-day visit to Washington, starting Sunday, comes just three weeks after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's trip to the United States. It shows Washington's concern over a fragile peace process thrown into question by the electoral victory of Israel's right-wing leader. Although Egypt has moderated its tone on Netanyahu since he met Mubarak in Cairo on July 18, Arabs are still wary of his opposition to exchanging land won in the 1967 war for peace.

Syria and Israel are far apart even on the idea of resuming negotiations, despite last week's visit by Mideast envoy Dennis Ross. Palestinians say that Israel has delayed its promised withdrawal from Hebron, the last city in the West Bank under occupation. In the weeks after Netanyahu's victory, Cairo led the campaign to slow normalization with the Jewish state and was instrumental in convening the first Arab summit in nearly six years. Mrs. Clevenger died Friday at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Survivors include her husband, Clarence B. Clevenger of Anniston; two daughters, Vickie Mize and Terrie Allen, both of Anniston; a son, Greg Clevenger of Weaver; her mother, Gladys Bowling of Anniston; a sister, Rochell Preston of Anniston and eight grandchildren, Eric Whaley, Amy Mize, Jason Brown, Courtney Clevenger, Michael Clevenger, Dalton Brown and Keshley Allen. Pallbearers will be Eric Whaley, Billy Allen, Gary Mize, Randy O'Brien, Willie Clevenger, Orliss Clevenger, Jason Brown and Kenney Preston.

Mrs. Clevenger was a native and resident of Anniston most of her life. She was a member of West Park Heights Baptist Church and a self-employed beautician. Fleming Services for Pauline Jennings (Johnson) Fleming, 83, of 155 Old Parkwood Road, Anniston, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at.

Leatherwood Baptist Church with Revs. James Gunnells, Charles Rutherford and Mike Owens officiating. Burial will be in Lloyd's Chapel Cemetery with Chapel Hill Funeral Home in charge.
