William Schmidt, 67, Marion, formerly of Greenwood, who served as a United Pentecostal Church minister for 42 years, will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Tabernacle, Indianapolis, and at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion. Calling will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Monday in Singleton Herr P. Madison Avenue Mortuary and from 4:30 p.m. Tuesday until services in the church. He died Friday. Rev.

Schmidt was the founding pastor of Calvary Apostolic Church, Greenwood, where he served from to 1971. He was the pastor of 1951 First Pentecostal Church of Marion from 1971 to 1986. Then he served as a traveling missionary until 1988. He since has served as pastor of Brookville (Ind.) United Pentecostal Church. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church Foreign Missionary Board.

Survivors: wife, Faith E. Urshan Schmidt: daughters, Beth Suzanne Burns, Ethel May Brown and Ruth Esther Hope Rieder; sons, William Paul and the Rev. Stephen Andrew Schmidt; sister, June Franklin; 10 grandchildren. Hortense Emerson taught 28 years Services for Hortense Hull Emerson. 86, Missoula, formerly of Mooresville, will be at 10 a.m.

Monday in First United Methodist Church, Missoula. She was a retired elementary school teacher. She died Friday. Calling will be private. Squire, Simmons and Carr Funeral Home, Missoula, is handing arrangements.

She had been a teacher for 28 years and had taught at Indianapolis Public Schools 12, 14 and 91 and at Newby Elementary School, Mooresville, before retiring in 1971. She was a member of the church. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart. Mr. Meier also received three Bronze Stars. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Indianapolis. Survivors: wife, Dorothy E.

North Vernon man, a passenger in car, dies when it is hit broadside. She had been a teacher for 35 years. JENNIE MAE COLE, 92, Westport, formerly of Hamilton County, died Saturday.

Services will be at 010 a.m. Monday in Bass Gasper Funeral Home, Westport, with calling from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. She answered fire calls and sounded the fire siren for the Westport Community Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

The man, wielding a small handgun, fled the Peoples Bank Trust Co. branch at 3266 North Meridian Street with an undisclosed amount of cash just before noon.

A police SWAT team futilely searched the adjacent Winona Professional Building after some witnesses said he fled there. Robbery detectives said the man matches the description of their suspect in a series of other holdups dating to Oct. 5.
